i had some networking issues in 6.18 about 6 months ago on my old thinkpad. went back to 6.12. now i'm trying 6.19.
any networking issues?
i also have to check for any memory usage differences. probably more now as usual.

I have thinkpad from 2010, no issues with new kernel

My FX-8350 is compiling shaders as we speak

Are you sure it was 6.18, not 6.17?

BOOYAKA BOOYAKA

based on two quick reboots, 6.19.11 seems to use less memory than 6.12.57 from boot to tty login.
i looked through the boot output and nothing seems broken (which could explain lower memory usage)

now that you mention 6.17, yes could be that one.
>>
>>108549027
what's wrong with networking on 6.17?
>>
>>108550279
it was probably just some temporary bug in the driver.
the network just stopped working for prolonged periods, coming back a bit and going out again sort of. needless to say, i didn't hang around very long and went back to a previous kernel.

thanks, I was just wondering if there were any known issues with that specific kernel version related to networking that I wasn't aware of

ath11k on qcfna735? that's been fucked for a while, qualcomm are fixing it (apparently)

I remember a bug like this for Realtek 8xxx series wireless
Had to find a fixed driver on GitHub

nothing. the boring part about this kernel is it just werks, there's nothing really to be improved beyond new support for hardware which you don't have

More AI and rust

you know thinking back about it, i remember having network drop outs during that kernel period as well. it would be random and internet would come back after a split second to a few seconds. maybe, once to three times a day.
i just ignored thinking it was my isp or router / modem.
intel 2.5gbps for me. since 6.18, never noticed any drop outs. now on 6.19. been so long i nearly forgot about them back then.
