i understand that the situation has improved dramatically since proton became a thing, but the philosophy of the whole idea just seems wrong. steam is objectively malware and even if you think it isn't, i don't see why you'd want to use linux when win10/11 LTSC exist.personally i gave up a while ago and shelled out $100 for an xbox 360 with some games. it's always offline, can be modded easily, and allows me to compartmentalize gaming bullshit to one box. in fact, i don't think any game that can't be played/emulated on a 360 is worth playing at all.
