I don't really care about any clickbait hyperbole but this article looks a lot like someone was using AI to write it.

it literallyt got a push 43 minutes ago. get a life please.

Why do the fries look so bad
>>

booting up rain world on proton-ge 10.34 right now, werks for me
>>
>>108557576
So all games made up until this point will work fine? Oh no... Please, don't limit my library to 100'000 video games please, I won't have anything to play!
>>
>>108557576
Who cares about muh competitive multiplayer bullshit? I just want singleplayer games or games I can play on private lobbies with my friends, and if they cheat I can punch them in the face.

Everything else can require muh hyperkernel ring -3 anticheat bullshit. I guess retroarch is the only thing good left.
>>
>>108558111
This isn't competitive multiplayer, it's games with Denuvo DRM which includes many single player games.
>>
>>108558228
I know. My questioning is why the actual fuck would any single player game even care if I'm cheating? I'm the only one involved in it.
>>
>>108558248
Windows. Kenel mode anti cheat DRM engine (Denuvo) sees you try attaching the Cheat Engine, and it tells you to kill yourself.

DRM is the only reason. But it's one that exists on Windows
>>
>>108558228
Who care
>>
>>108558260
But why would it do that? I buy a ball, I want to play with the ball however I fucking want. If I want to cheat, I cheat. If I want to play whatever house rules, I do it. I don't want it trying to enforce FIFA fair play rules including nigger kneeling and whatever the fuck else. I want to play some other game? That's a DLC. Fuck that shit. Anyone would say fuck that ball, fuck whoever gives money to who makes that ball and fuck who makes that ball and fuck every kike who even looked at this fucking ball.
>>
>>108558228
So malware developers are deliberately designing their software NOT to run on my system? Sounds great.

I wish I understood all of the technicalities in the article, some people out there have deep low-level knowledge of computers that I can only grasp, but it got me wondering.

>The technology is there. But most game developers consider user-mode anti-cheat insufficient for competitive multiplayer
why not just allow players to choose to play against other "non-ring 0" users? those who prefer ring 0 anti-cheat could still play with themselves.

>Day-zero piracy, something the industry thought Denuvo had all but eliminated, is back.
why the fuck in English "all but" means both "almost" and "everything except"? it's so confusing
>>
>>108558577
it's talking about potentially giving everything kernel level protection
something you can't allow on linux
the reality will be is that nothing will happen and if anything this is more likely to just kill denuvo as no one would risk angering valve like that
>>
>>108558111
anon, there will be a kernel level drm that is what the article is trying to say, many game from now on won't run on wine and proton
>>
>>108558248
My nigger, it's not about cheating. It's about DRM, ie not allowing you to run the game unless you've been verified to have purchased it.
>>
>>108557576
Even if I had all the money in the world I would still not buy a Denuvo-protected game. On principle. Fuck them. Them and those with kernel-level anti-cheat. They insert a rootkit into your computer to make sure you wouldn't cheat in a video game. lmao
>We gotta protect little Timmy! His feelings will be hurt if he gets headshotted in a game!
>>
>A wave of hypervisor-based DRM bypasses has seriously undermined Denuvo's current protections, reopening day-zero piracy against the most widely used anti-tamper technology in PC gaming
not my fucking problem
>>
>>108557576
I will never infect my machine with this spyware, gl to you
>>
>>108558760
All the good games have already been made, so what's the problem?
My old games work with wine/proton and will continue to do so. Plus it only affects a small subset of games.
The only people who are going to be affected by this are slop-consuming g*mers, and they deserve it to be honset.
>>108558577
>why not just allow players to choose to play against other "non-ring 0" users?
That is possible, but then you would have to develop and maintain two anti-cheat systems (one for kernel and one for userspace) one of which is obviously inferior, and that is too much work for developers so they just choose the easy route.
The best solution however would to implement all the anti-cheat logic on the server rather than the client but game devs are probably too stupid or lazy (or both) to do that.

Holy shit you’d need be a gorilla brained hyper retard to disable all your kernels protection stacks just so you can play some slop for free.
