Is PC repair a profitable side gig? People seem pretty fucking stupid when it comes to their computer, but eletronics seem to be less and less serviceable each year.

I tried everything to advertise outside running tv and radio commercials because I couldn't afford those. People here just toss their stuff in the trash and buy new, or go to places like Best Buy with geek squad or the Apple store. Most of the "successful" independent repair shops around me are more recycling centers than computer repair.The only independent repair shops that have been remotely successful, from strictly repair sense, was mobile phone repair. I say was, because even they have been closing around me.

It was barely viable 15+ years ago, nowadays even less so.Fewer people own full desktop PCs/workstations at home now. Most are on tablets, phones, or less frequently laptops.If you're somehow in a magic location where there's no large retailers selling pre-built and offering servicing, but you somehow also have enough population around to make it feasible, and you ALSO don't already have 5 other neckbeards trying to operate the same service alongside you, then sure you could give it a go.
