which pc parts you will never buy used?
that is a sexy psu
>>108571006The PSU.
>>108571006>buying any used parts
>>108571006I only got burned on a used PC part when I bought a delidded CPU that ended up having a dead core or something. I didn't know what was wrong, but my monitor would freeze and It was like peripherals would stop functioning. cap lock light on keyboard wouldn't even turn on and off when i hit cap locks. It took me a while to figure out that it was the CPU and when i switched to a spare 10700K that i had, the problem went away.Moral of the story. don't buy someone else's delidded shit. never had a problem with any used PC part. not GPUs, not motherboards, not PSUs, not memory or even SSDs. just don't buy personally modified PC parts and 9/10 times you'll be fine.
>>108571006probably dildos
>>108571006HDDs
>>108571006mouse/keyboardno point when they cost $20 and need replacing every 2 years
>>108571075you must have really greasy sausage fingers.
>>108571021why? if it fucks up just get a new one because the warranty is so long
>>108571006>mouse>thermal pasteI've bought all those other things used, except an AIO because adding liquids to your PC is dumb. I did get my CPU cooler used for $50.
>>108571006NVME SSD
>>108571006I bought a used PSU out of ignorance, and out of it came a few cockroaches, so PSUs. I'm hesitant to buy anything used regardless of its quality or relative savings desu. You don't know how subhuman someone is with their things short of it being broken, or seeing their(?) shit wiped on it.
I will never buy any used parts
>>108571006Any.But if forced to build a pc with all used parts minus one, i guess i'd say PSU, just due to their potential to take other shit out with them, when they go.
>>108571006I wouldn't buy peripherals used because you need to change the battery after a few years
>>108571570>using wireless peripheralsanon...
>>108571075>need replacing every 2 yearsNot if you get a mechanical one. Cost a bit more, but totally worth it.
>>108571006Any that will go into my primary computer.
>>108571065I never like circumcized CPUs anywayLiquid metal ironically only optimizes for ambient overclocking and permanently gimps the CPUs OC potential compared to stock solder TIM which also lasts forever
>>108571006I bought a used 5800x3d and it came with all manner of scratches and ditches in the substrate which was caused by the previous owner so I'd never buy a used PGA cpu since people don't know how to remove them from a working system
>>108571006Anything goes for the right price.
>>108571006everything but mouse is kinda gross thing to buy used
e waste degenerates in this thread
>>108571006spares or repairs
>>108571659delidding took off in the time when intel were jewing people with thermal paste instead of solder. It made sense then.
>>108571021>>108571166ThisPSUs are the only part that you never want to compromise on
>>108571006All of them. And when it's time to upgrade I either repurpose or destroy my old parts so no one else can use them either.
motherboard for main PC
>>108571682I bought 2 keyboards and a mouse at Goodwill. Older IBM stuff. Took the mouse apart and soaked all the plastic in cleaner, meticulously cleaned all the keys on the keyboards and used compressed air to blow it all out, left them out in the sun for a full day. Enjoying all of it. Clicks just right- not too much, not too little.
>>108571006GPUI know they only sell it because it was part of a crypto mining setup
>>108571021>>108572044I bought 2 PSUs because I knew they where quality but cheap.First was an EVGA G2 1300w which was clearly from mining but apparently wasn't used much. Still had 2 years left of the 3 year warranty and was clean.Other was a 1300w G+ refurb and was also clean. Worked fine when I tested it. It's put up as a spare. The G2 1300w is in my NAS and has given me zero problems.
