How important is it to fund Thunderbird?
>>
>>108574651
would you have a mental nervous breakdown if Thunderbird died?
then donate you idiot
>>
>>108574651
>use FOSS
>get mad when people ask for money (not forcing you) for a program you use
literally either donate or shut up. it's so easy to not bitch and be ungrateful little cunt
>>
>>108574651
just ask chatgpt to code a clone.
>>
>>108574651
I remember when Firefox was called Firebird
this was around the same time I last used thunderbird
>>
>>108574651
I want to c um inside that bird no cap on g
>>
>>108574651
Don't care, still using Gnus
>>
>>108574651
It sickens me that you even have to ask.
>>

Most people would not notice if it disapears. As relevant as a desktop outlook.
If only they were smart enough to distinguish themselves with cool stuff instead of just getting grant money for nothing.
I guess this is what happens to every open source non commercial product. It turns to shit over time. No incentive to improve, so it wastes resources endlessly while being mostly useless.
>>108575378
How firefox did not turn to shit btw?
>>
>Outlook but worse
lol lmao
>>
>>108574651
If they needed help to survive they shouldn't have bought k9 mail.

I had to uninstall it cause i knew they'll add their fucking telemetry to it, fucking telemetry addicts, I hope they abandon ship soon so firefox and thunderbird can be taken by a more sane foss foundation.

Years ago I would sympathize, now it's literally just Aldi Outlook.
>>
>>108574651
not very apparently otherwise mozilla wouldn't be redirecting all their funding to radical leftist programs

>>
>>108574651
I unno, I use it and I gave them 5 bucks. Shut up.
>>

Ah, yes, the mantra of the disinformation bot.
>>
>>108574651
I would gladly donate, but I am not going give any money to Mozilla.

>>
i like pressing ctrl-u and seeing messages in raw form
>>
>>108575028
This is why i cant blame zorin devs for making a paid version
>>
>>108574651
Yeah, you should def go fund a technology used by pedos.
>>
>>108581263
this tbdesu

>>108581276
neat, is there a way to turn off html in general? I never found one and it's the only advantage claws mail has over thunderbird
>>
>>108583229
i've never looked into turning html off other than a setting to send mail in plain text. i hate how fucking retarded apps/mobile os' handle plain text. sadly that shit is creeping into desktop applications.

enjoy looking at the mail headers and whatnot. let us know if you find anything interesting :-)
>>
>ctrl-f seamonkey
>>
>>108574651
Funderbird
heh...
>>
>>108574651

Based, same
I got really annoyed how it flashed every so often to prompt me to update so I disabled it

Still works, still no issues
>>
>>108574651
>check my work laptop with thunderbind on
>500MB of memory wasted for a fucking email client
people make fun of electon shit but this is somehow even worse
>>108583349
i will never forgive mozilla for killing off ZUL, thank god for autists who still develop palemoon and seamonkey
>>
>>108583900
There is only XUL!
>>
>>108574651
Doesn't matter at all - modern Thunderbird is trash

>>108579540

Based, but why not use the more recent 102? (last ESR version before they ruined the UI)
>>

>>
>>108584919

How hard is it to just use something like Claws Mail? (or it's predecessor Sylpheed)
>>
>>108574651
so.. what new features are exciting in thunderbird?
>>
>>108584809
>Based, but why not use the more recent 102? (last ESR version before they ruined the UI)
I did not actually read changelogs, that version number represents the point in time the update flashing the icon made me annoyed enough
>>
>>108585935
Claws mail is pretty good and is much lighter, as long as you are fine with all your email only being displayed in plaintext
>>
>>108585935
>>108588888
I use claws mail for my personal email address and thunderbird for work.
Pro-tip regarding spam: set up bogofilter to train and filter spam in claws, it's so good.
