>11.28% of English language users on Steam are using Linux
>5.33% total despite the turd world bringing it down as per usual
The year of the Linux gaming desktop already happened. Everything that comes after is just the victory lap. Tuxbros we won.

tell someone who cares, faggot.

cool now make it yotld for every other use case

Seam decks don't count.
>>
>>108576169
>A handheld PC doesn't count (for some reason)
Okay. SteamOS (handhelds) only account for 18% of Steam's Linux userbase
>>
>>108576180
Still doesn't count.

>11.28% of English language users on Steam are using Linux

- There are twice as many English speakers in Nigeria than in the United Kingdom.
- If you combine the number of English speakers in India, Nigeria, and Pakistan they surpass the entire population of the US.
- There are more English speakers in Africa than in all of Europe.

My guess would actually be that it's the various European language users that are bringing the percentage down, not third world countries.

>>108576195
why not? it's a handheld device that you can dock and use as a PC with a desktop view. This is such an arbitrary bullshit stance to take.
>>
>>108576118
First off, Steam chart doesn’t tell you if that’s a human or bot account. Second, Proton heavily depends on Windows applications to support coverage of Linux is not a good thing. Lastly, exclusivity relies on Steam only and no one else is a awful idea that should be talked about.

Why would a bot be answering a hardware survey? Also Proton gets us closer towards native ports and these games are running better on Linux despite the compatibility layer. Who gives a flying fuck.

>answering a hardware survey
It's automatic.

It's not automatic dumbass.

I just wish gaming on Linux wasn't over reliant on Steam. It sucks as a low end gamer when steamwebhelper uses around 400mb of ram.

>just pirate bro
Some installers or cracks dont work on wine and proton. Cracking FL studio on Linux is impossible.
>>
>>108576676
It is automatically collected, hardly “answering a survey”
>>
>>108577107
Proton can run outside of steam and so can a lot of steam games.
>>
STOP THE COUNT
linux has all of the development, polish, compatibility, and features that we need
DO NOT push linux any more. normies flooding support sections with braindead complaints and errors is the last thing we need
we can sustain this golden age of linux but only if we dont have every mouthbreathing npc on it shitting it up, asking for dumb features and supporting things being locked down and abstracted
>>
>>108577353
>>108577375
No it cant, not LOL, not WOW, Hoyoverse games, Nexon games, etc. This means only exclusively Steam games run on Proton, not games who don’t have Steam versions. A monopoly on Linux games and you’re supporting it.
>>
>>108576367
Nobody does that. It's a switch for steam games for the vast majority of users.
>>
>>108577690
Those games would work if the devs didn't actively sabotage linux support
>>
>>108577690
Steam is irrelevant to why these games don't run on Linux. And yes, you should stop poisoning your mind with League of Legends.
>>
>>108577936
Steam does not do anything about DRM, they don’t talk to the developers. They don’t respect the developers DRM. Steam does not do anything about broken games only gamers fix it.
>>
>>108577690
the games that outright don't work are in that state because they default to a massive fucking security violation
you absolutely don't need steam if the game isn't reliant on malware
>>
>>108578099
Steam is malware, FBI doesn’t just say things to random companies if there were no malicious activity.
>>
>>108576118
Installing Linux is an IP violation as it circumvents anti piracy firmware to install an unauthorized Operating system.
>>
>>108577899
My brother uses a Dock and uses it as a portable PC. Shut the fuck up dumbass
>>
>>108577690
Bullshit. I literally play WoW on proton EVERY DAY outside of steam with lutris you retard.
>>
>>108577107
Ardour is better than FL Studio in every conceivable way.
>>
>>108577899
Holy fuck you're a retard. Plenty of people do that so they can play on a larger screen with a keyboard and mouse and end up using it as a desktop replacement when it's docked. The whole appeal of the steam deck is that it's a dockable gaming PC that you can use as a handheld console and portable media player
>>
>>108577107
My homie, it's not. You've got access to GoG, Epic, etc through Heroic Launcher, and pirated games via Lutris. Literally the only game I haven't been able to play on Linux is GTA V outside of story mode. BattleEye will kick you from every online session. But otherwise I've pirated loads of games, and brought my entire GoG and Epic libraries with me to Linux (I don't buy Epic games, but they give away 2 games a week for free so I snag whatever looks fun, and the occasional AAA just because)
>>
>>108578277
Mac Neo does it better and offers real professional software that actually works. You and him are scam into believing a Chinese toy like Steam Deck can outperform a real machine built for real world applications.
>>
>>108578752
>muh Macbook Neo
I think you should kill yourself.
>>
>>108578847
Scare of the cheapest alternative is actually the best option? Currently the OLED is the only buyable product with $545 price tag vs $400 price tag of a Mac. The choice is very clear.
