Because Windows has been jeetifying at an alarming rate since 11 (or 10 if you are more critical) Linux is getting a lot of refugees these days and they gravitate towards the easy to install distros as well as "gaming just werks" ones and Cachy is both of those. Many refugees are too dumb to look anything up and flood communities asking questions that reveal they don't know even the most basic aspects of the operating system they are on. Installing arch manually at least makes sure you have above room temp IQ and can follow instructions.
That being said there is nothing wrong with being able to do that and still using CachyOS or anything you damn well please if it comes with defaults you enjoy. It's just that retards are annoying and also some level of elitism is generally considered good to deter retards because if normalfags flood the ecosystem then corporations will be next (yes, they already very much exist in the space but not to a malicious degree yet... probably).

CachyOS is probably the most no-nonsense distro these days.
It's arch with different defaults, it can mostly be reverted back to that state, unlike a lot of derivatives
It's bleeding edge but by default provides a very simple snapshot rollback system with installs/updates hooked to it
It provides as much freedom as needed for anyone who wants to diddle with it and it doesn't do anything overcomplicated (it's not immutable and the update schedule is the same as arch)
It saves a lot of time in the install process with mostly sane defaults
Almost everything in the AUR works the same as it would on Arch (unlike a certain other derivative that's been dogshit for years)
Its community isn't a bunch of faggots sitting in a discord putting out fires, there's no microsoft employees either
The overlap with arch is such that you'll have trouble finding anything in the arch wiki that doesn't apply to it the exact same way

Arch is practically pointless in this day and age unless you have ghetto tier hardware or you can't find a purpose in your life and you need to spend more and more time tinkering.
