There is no cure. You just do it until its out of your system and its best to try a few wildly different distros (like debian, arch, and silverblue for example) so you know what you are gaining/losing between them

I abandoned Apple laptops in 2013
I've used linux on my laptop ever since
I started with ubuntu, tried fedora, debian, centos, landed on arch in 2017 and have been using arch ever since

I would still buy an Apple laptop, if they supported booting linux, but they don't, so I won't.
