I pretend to like my boss and tolerate his stupid programming opinions (which I can't even find any coherence in sometimes, like he's so random). I wonder if people pretended to like me when I was a boss. Probably yes. This world is a circlejerk.
My bosses were always product guys who had no clue what I was typing and were just happy as long as I made something that worked, looked good and didn't crash.I don't think I could work for some sweaty nerd who would constantly go "uhm actually" on perfectly working shit.I am a PM now and apply the same philosophy
