pacman doesn't need 2 commands

yaylmaoing @ ur life
debian is just patching one package helper on top of the other,>dpkg>apt>apt-get>apt-fastand on top of all those you also have shit like>apt-cache>apt-mark>others I am forgettingobviously not ideal, fragmented to fuck.it is utmost retarded and feels ducktaped and yucky.arch only has pacman, it is fast with easy to remember options
>>108596629this but with yay aliased to paru
Completely gay commands. All I want is an automatic message saying "you have to update because there's a vulnerability" or "because your Firefox 60 will stop supporting the latest crookedflare requirements", everything else doesn't matter and doesn't need an update and especially an upgrade. OS versions is turbogayness, I don't want new OS versions.
>>108596652based
>>108596629>yayI only use corporate backed programs.
>>108596652Mint does this
Literally never do it. I just don't do it. I checked the update manager the other day and it said 7gb of updates to be installed and I said no, literally just don't do it, and I closed the update manager. Any time I install a package it tells me to update first and I just don't do it. Who cares? Why would I? Your shit isn't that up to date either what did you fuckin time travel? you need future updates from after your program was released? Don't tell me to update. So I just don't. Literally never update. I hear about security issues, they came with version whatever update. Well lucky I didn't update then isn't it. And people say to me, but what about security? Aren't you worried about security? Literally isn't even real. Never ever ever update.

>>108596652You're using the wrong OS for that. Everything is tightly couples and if one new version of a program needs an upgrade to one library, every other program that also depends on that library also needs to upgrade. If you don't want that, either use macOS, Windows or NixOS. Normal loonix distros are forever cursed with this dumbassery. It's getting better for GUI applications with Flatpaks (or Snaps if you must) but for the rest of the system, shit sucks.
>>108598997thats why linux desktop will never be mainstream. using commands should be optional
>>108599052It is on desktop. Every non autistic distro comes with GUI updaters now. They even update flatpaks and snaps. Well, sometimes. Some of them only update some of them which is very intuitive and well designed (TM) But on servers, it's rather annoying.
I haven't updated since 2016. Updates are the devil. I am a child of God.

>>108599023Windows and MacOS are worse, they force shit upon and without giving nearly as much freedom as linuxes/bsd, can't stand them. What I really would prefer is a functional capability-enabled OS without Unix POSIX baggage. But we can't have it, because Linux is just good enough and we've got tons of software and drivers for it which cannot possibly be ported/rewritten in any reasonable time for a new OS.

>>108599941I just love it when you can't install software because "unattended-updates" holds the lock on dpkg, doing updates in the background you never asked for. You better not kill it your system will never boot again.
>>108599956Removing unattended-upgrades is the first thing I do on distros that have it.Nope. Not dealing with that shit. My system will update when I tell it to.

>>108600196It's ok when Linux does it because Linux is FREE and respects your freedoms. Windows does not do this because Microsoft is an evil corporation that wants to install spyware on my PC which is not user respecting and violates my right to privacy.
