How mindfucked do you have to be to have to rely on a plugin to navigate files when Vim came with perfectly functional autocomplete?
>>
>>108597006
Good riddance, hopefully some better system for handling parsers and queries emerges, like a community driven registry.
>>108597211
It's not a plugin for file navigation.

Hasn't Neovim natively supported treesitter for a couple of years now?
>>
>>108597006
Then step up and fork it to continue.

treesitter != tree
tree is nice if you are working with lots of separate files simultaneously
but personally I think yazi.nvim or nnn.nvim are probably better
although I'm not sure if yazi.nvim supports replacing netrw or vertical splits

>Hasn't Neovim natively supported treesitter for a couple of years now?
yes but it's kind of a pain to set up and has way fewer features
a lot of plugins depend on treesitter-nvim as well

the maintainer that quit has a doctorate in mathematics, 25 years of experience, is a professor for mathematics and scientific computing and has completely rewritten this plugin for like 4 years
in practice your sentiment doesn't work

I just use helix which doesn't need plugins for basic features expected of every IDE.

1 day after the nvim-0.12 release he merged a pr into main that breaks compatibility with nvim-0.11

with the main branch being more or less a rewrite of the plugin
With a rewrite of the plugin being somewhat appropriate since many things that the plugin used to do are now just part of nvim itself,
but also a pain because it asks you to configure and install shit more than previously.
For example, manually having to set up autocmds to enable syntax highlighting in a buffer via treesitter,
where the pre-rewrite plugin just did that for you.

Also, also, when people inevitably complained about the breaking changes and lack of backwards compatibility,
he got pissy instead of realizing that this was an incredibly obvious and forseeable outcome
>>
how low must you be when even reddit can bully you
>>
reminds me of this
>>
>>108598433
no one was bullied, people complained and the maintainer didn't want to deal with the complaining
both of which is understandable

It does, actually.
