Hi

I am one of the millions of people who suffer from technology illiteracy
In other words, I am a retard when it comes to technology and software

But I don't want to stay this way
Would should be the first step to learn more about how devices and software work?

Are there any online courses I should take?

1. stay away from "tech enthusiasts"
2. pick up some hardware or software you like and start asking questions about how they work and why they are the way they are. Try playing around with them. Type those questions into a search engine.
Example: "why do windows disks use letters" will lead you down a rabbit hole of MS-DOS and filesystems. Obviously, don't try to ingest every single piece of terminology you encounter at first. Write them down and slowly piece them together. Let your curiosity guide you. Now, it would help to know what subset of "devices and software" you're interested in, as it's quite vague right now.

Set goals based on what you enjoy. Like if you like video games, learn to pirate old games, set up emulators, hack a 3DS, etc. If you like movies or anime, learn to torrent them, set it up to auto-download episodes, eventually host a jellyfin server and set up sonarr. Learn about things that are relevant to or interest you.

Get whatever interests you, play around with it until ur familiar with its operation, learn from youtube videos or books for the deeper knowledge and then apply it to the technology

What happened to fucking around to find out?
Why do people nowadays always need an easy 10 step video tutorial to do anything?
Are you afraid of failing? Failing what? There are no stakes.
What's the point in living this way? Are you scared that a big meanie anonymous guy will laugh at your face?
