regarding the remote vs office productivity conversation
I never see people say this, and maybe I'm just stupid and unethical, but I'm definitely less productive working from home. partially because I'm slower and waste more time figuring things out and trying to find people to ask things through text. partially because, honestly, I can just get up and go do my laundry, or leave in the middle of the day to run some errands. or just post on 4chan. I think I could work a second job and not get caught

I think the whole work-that-has-meaning meme distorted the worker's view of what work is about. Picture it in simpler terms rather than working in tech. A baker.
