Why would anyone want an F-91w over this?

Acutally you can if you change the board to Sensorwatch

This watch shows that the owner is an autistic virgin.
Why would you want this?
It would be better to wear no watch and look at your phone than to use this.

Casio is eternal. I wear an A1000+A700 hybrid as my daily driver and women often comment on how stylish I look. Granted I wear tailor made suits and such but it doesn't subtract from it.

Same terrible backlight. Same plastic front screen, same shitty band that disintegrate after 3 months. DW-291H is the minimum casio I would get that have all the boxes checked.

>>108616190
The original band is kind of shitty at least if you compare it to 5000u. But yes it is great watch. I wish they made 5510u. The 5500 series have only one watch and it is with negative display and not solar powered. What I hate about Casio is that they have probably 300 models with different 2-20 versions each but the ones worth buying are <30, they can trim the production and not produce 200 versions of dw-5600 that are some shitty colab like swatch do.

The second to F91w is obviously the A168. It has all the features, plus a better backlight. I have a golden-colored one like picrel, although I mostly wear a f91w
>>108615037
I really wanted to get one for sports but held off on buying it. Does the battery last forever if you don't keep it in the dark?

I don't want to take a pic of my actual watch but I have this. Full steel case and bracelet and a sapphire crystal. It will last forever. You haven't lived until your Casio has a world map. The planet will shift its tectonic plates and look different before this Casio gives up.

>Does the battery last forever if you don't keep it in the dark?
If you wear it outside for 1 or 2 days a month, that's more than enough to recharge it. I've got one of the models with analog hands and I fully charged it over the course of a couple weeks of daily wear.
>picrel from the GWN-Q1000 manual (the best one)

just disable the auto light if you are gona spend weeks in darkness or hiding it under a shirt.
I noticed that the auto activated light hogs a lot of battery. It activates when you flick your wrist in a certain angle

i use a non-meme model casio as a pocket watch attached to my keychain (the strap is long since lost)

a coworker gave it me thinking i lost it since the strap was broken and it laid at the bottom of a ladder, i said "no, i've never owned that model of watch" and he just shoved it in my hands saying something like "well if anyone comes looking for it i'll tell them you have it, it's not my problem anymore"

i unironically loathe people who get gear for fashion reasons because i have a fuckton of "gear" that has just fallen into service for me. stuff from thrift shops, stuff i've "acquired" at work, etc. even my multiool is a military-issued one, but the one i actually have is not the original one i was issued, it's one i "acquired" after losing my first one and the "acquired" one has had a longer story (and the one i lost surely was picked up by someone else and has its own story now)

most stuff i own is used because most stuff i buy new doesnt survive. the used stuff comes with a story i dont know and it carries on. muh heirloom fallacy or whatever its called, the thing where old stuff looks good by grace of being the only surviving example, where even when its consoomer slop made by machine the machine that made it itself must have entered a fey mood

why does it need to say WATER REIST on the face of the watch, are they worried people will forget?
>>
>>108620639
Clear indication is probably necessary by law because you have actual retards who can't bother looking things up.
>>
>>108620639

>>
>>108620647
>Clear indication is probably necessary by law
there are many watches out there that are water resistant without proclaiming it on the watch face
>>108620649
so does corn syrup
>>
>>108620639
It's not about it being useful, it's about showing others that it could be.
>>
>>108620669
>hey man, is that watch water resistant?
>yeah
>>
>>108620678
Wow! Such an outdoorsman! But it's not even a G-Shok... So sigma male.....
>>
>>108620639
It's water resistant, not waterproof, which means that there's an amount of water/submersion after which the watch is actually affected. On Casio watches, the "WATER RESIST" label fades as you approach that point.
>>
>>108620705
G-Shocks are for people who need to be reminded that their battery lasts 10 years every time they look at their watch
>>108620709
That's actually useful, I didn't know that
>>
>>108620709
I, for one, just try not to fall overboard.
