It's not the best for gaming but the CPUs with 3D cache I can upgrade to are costly enough and the gains are not justifiable, or at least that's what it seems. I doubt this new AM4 CPU would actually be beneficial

I have a 3900x and a 3995wx, and the 3900x feels pathetically weak when I want to do multiple things at a time, while the 3995wx takes too long to actually complete a task. The truth is that if yoy have a am4 system the only logical rh7ng to do right now is to either invest in a 5800x3d or 5850x and wait for something better.

Any am4 system without these chips is just sitting there as a shell of what it could be. I wish I had good luck with my 5900Xes. First one had faulty cores out of the box. Second one has been giving me corrected errors occasionally for the last 3+ years and is now apparently giving system fatal errors (despite not crashing?).
Definitely going to pick up one of these new 5800X3Ds if I can. More cores is nice for compiling AUR stuff but I do primarily just game.

As long as AM4 continues to survive, so will Windows 7 thanks to official drivers. And because pretty much every new game released in the past 4 years is absolute slop, you really don't need more than a 3090ti or 6950xt. I will be happy to add a new 5800x3d to my collection
