Still rocking a Steam Deck OLED.Just beat Dark Souls 2 on it today.The big advantage it has is the trackpads.I can go from playing a boomer shooter, to playing a 4X game, to playing a Zachtronics kino.Honestly, games haven't really improved since Elden Ring (which the Steam Deck runs just fine). I see no reason to upgrade. I almost built a desktop recently with my tax return but thought, "what's the fucking point?" Theres almost no games worth playing that cant run on it.

I recently moved house, and my new commute to work involves roughly 2.5 hours a day of sitting on a train with me bored out of my mind; tried bringing along my old 3DS and PS Vita but the games don't interest me (or rather, I can't get invested because of the small screen + flickering sunlight fucking with my ability to see what I'm doing).Is it worth buying one of those emulation handhelds with an OLED screen from Ayn, Retroid, et al.? Also considered a Steam deck, which might be nice, but it'd be too big for how much space I have to work in with the train seats
I rarely play handheld but an Atmosphere NSW with Moonlight and a PSVita.

I recently homebrewed my 3DS XL and I'm pretty happy with it. Can play basically everything 3DS and earlier which works for me.

At multiple points in my life I have invested time in a handheld. Like I have a modded Vita with a ton of shit on it that is in theory very cool but then I find I don't actually enjoy playing on handhelds unless I'm somewhere where it's the only option and I barely leave my house now that I work from home. A big screen, full size controller and not having to either hunch down or hold hold my arms up is just much more comfortable.

Trim UI Smart Pro S. Its just ok, was a pain to set up since i ran into problems with stock firmware and had to use something else and dreamcast games often dont work for some reason. Not very good buttons or thumbstick either but you get what you pay for
