>turn on an old laptop>open browser>remember that uBlock and 4chanX don't work anymore and are not in the store>remember that I did something with exemptions in the settings of the browser>can't find the notes of how we did itCould you remind me how to use 4chanX and uBlock again? Internet without uBlock is suffering.
>>108624072>uBlock don't work anymore and are not in the storeyou stupid or something?https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/ublock-origin/
>>108624165he's probably a chromecuck, ublock and ublock lite got baleeted from their store
>>108624171eww
>>108624171On my desktop we did it a few months ago messing with the chrome://flagsBut can't seem to make it happen again. My desktop has operational uBlock and 4chanX.
I may have to transition finally to Firefox... All this history, links, bookmarks, logged in sites, lost like tears in the rain..
>>108624202you can't import bookmarks?I could do it bretty easy when I switched from opera last year
>>108624171You made that up.https://chromewebstore.google.com/detail/ublock-origin/cjpalhdlnbpafiamejdnhcphjbkeiagmhttps://chromewebstore.google.com/detail/ublock-origin-lite/ddkjiahejlhfcafbddmgiahcphecmpfh
>>108624419It doesn't work really.
>op here>after messing about with my laptop>chrome browsers sync>go back to desktop>4chanx disapears>it's fucking over>will have to go on FirefoxCould I transfer all these stuff and make it look like this?
>>108624072Does 4chanxt still work and is anyone new maintaining it?
>>108625134>4chan XT is dead>I stopped using 4chan since the hack. I now browse alt chans that actually care about their users, and don't need an userscript fighting their shitty design.
>>108624072>>108625130Anon, if you want to stick to Chromium, just install Brave or Vivaldi and import your bookmarks (and whatever else you can/want). They still support Manifest V2 extensions (including uBlock Origin and probably 4chanX). You could switch to Firefox, but you're not forced to.Also, you could try 4chanXT. It's a userscript for Tampermonkey/Violentmonkey. Just pick one (Violentmonkey is open source, but otherwise they're pretty much identical). Other than that, it works like any other extension. It's no longer maintained afaik, but it still works fine for me at least. Just make sure to install the correct version:https://greasyfork.org/en/scripts/489508-4chan-xt
>>108625176>Tampermonkey/ViolentmonkeyI want something that feels 'native/straightforward'. I will look into Firefox vs Brave.
add this to the shortcut--disable-features=ExtensionManifestV2Unsupported,ExtensionManifestV2Disable
>>108625257I forget if it goes after the " or inside the " after the .exe"
Fuck it, I will get Brave and be done. It will be good for a change.I have Opera on the phone because it allows me to rename files on download. And I use Samsung on the Galaxy tablet. Surprisingly legit browsing experience for the tablet.
>>108625255Trust me, it's very straightforward. 4chanXT is very similar to 4chanX. It's basically the same thing with added features. And installing it is as simple as installing any monkey extension and then clicking the install button on the Greasyfork page. The default settings work fine. It is fun to tinker with, we've had entire threads dedicated to adding custom CSS to it and stuff like that. Also, you should always have a backup browser. I prefer Firefox, but these days 4chan might rangeban you just for posting from Firefox in incognito mode.
>>108625176>no longer maintained So what? This site hasn't changed in 15 years what is there to maintain? I haven't updated my scripts since the last decade
>>108625255>I want something that feels 'native/straightforward'Techlet retard, how is a script not straightforward? You either copy the code or click the install button. How is it less "native" than extensions? Why does "nativity" even matter when the software does its job? What you're saying doesn't make a lick of sense.
>>108625328Some anons said they ran into captcha visibility issues or something like that. I haven't noticed anything though, it might be theme related.
>>108625320My issue is installing Monkeygrease and all these external script things. It starts to make things complicated. Why does /g/ hate Brave? Is it because they hate everything Chrome in general?
>>108625347I am getting old and can't be bothered nowadays. I just want out of the box, ready solutions if I can. Like Brave says it has its own uBlock build in. That's cool.Even if installing uBlock is one click.
>>108624832I don't really care about the scare banner, scroll down and you'll see it's still updated, google for 2 minutes and discover several ways to install it.
>>108625380You're overthinking it, they're only as complicated as you want them to be. The default settings work fine and it's just one extra click. And there are other useful userscripts that are not available as standalone extensions, so it pays to get used to monkey addons.>Why does /g/ hate Brave? Is it because they hate everything Chrome in general?Mostly because it gets spammed on here a lot. And because it's a bit bloated with optional stuff like crypto and premium AI and VPN services. But you can just ignore that stuff and use it like a regular browser and it does the job fine.
>>108625450I'll try the Monkeygrease see what it does.
>>108624072There is no way this site makes money
>>108625171I was hoping someone would pick up the mantle
>>108625320So you’re just using the very last archived version and praying it never breaks? Is there a fork that’s going to be updated?
>>108624202i finally switched to firefox when the first chrome manifest workaround got blocked and it was pretty obvious i'd have to leave eventually. even after getting used to firefox it's pretty clear that chrome is objectively the superior browser outside of their attempts at killing adblock. it's a shame how much it bootyblasts firefox
>>108626262>i finally switched to firefox when the first chrome manifest workaround got blockedUnless I missed one the first one was the one that's still working. --enable-features=AllowLegacyMV2Extensions --disable-features=ExtensionManifestV2DeprecationWarning,ExtensionManifestV2Disabled,ExtensionManifestV2UnsupportedI have the latest version of uBO, on the latest version of Chrome, from and working auto updates from the Chrome Web Store. We're going on 9 years of "uBO won't work on Chrome in 2 more weeks"
violentmonkeyinsteall the 4chanx script from there
>>108626213Developer-sama added everything about 4chanX that mattered to the native extension over 15 years ago. There's your mantle.
