op is probably a tranny. they love inflating their actually relatively miniscule contribution under the guise of such /g/eet "haha look trannies" threads.
you can see the actual top-level teams here:
https://rust-lang.org/governance/
picrel is the current lang team (the most important one).
you can see all 119 teams and their members here:
https://rust-lang.org/governance/teams/
no such a thing as "rust maintainers team".
op's pic comes from a site called RustNL, a dutch community/non-profit site.
https://rustnl.org/maintainers/
that is not to say that all these names are unknown or completely irrelevant. but they are not THAT important either.
a bunch of trannies and their friends can literally create such a site for any mainstream language.
and none of this is actually important or technically relevant in any case. only tech illiterates would fall for such ploys, and only an illogical person would care regardless.
suppose trannies' contribution to rust was actually 60/70/80%, a logical and a meritocratic would care about the technical merit of that contribution not its source (assuming there are no restrictions on usage which is the case).
can't-do genderists hate meritocracy of course (see The Post-Meritocracy Manifesto), so can-do trannies actually cause them (the can't-doers) a confliction of good propaganda vs. envy lol
>>
>>108626801
LOL no way.

one of the nice things about LLMs and vibe coding is that you can get nice Rust programs and not have to interact with Rustaceans-at-large at all
> https://ladybird.org/newsletter/2026-02-28/
> Back in 2024, we tried adopting Swift as a second language alongside C++. It didn’t pan out for us, so we removed all Swift code from the codebase (#7999).
>
> In its place, we landed a complete Rust reimplementation of the LibJS frontend pipeline: lexer, parser, AST, scope collector, and bytecode code generator (#8104). The translation was done using AI coding agents (Claude Code and Codex), human-directed rather than autonomous. The Rust pipeline produces byte-for-byte identical bytecode output to the C++ implementation, verified across 52,898 test262 tests and 12,461 Ladybird-specific tests with zero regressions.

Programming is mostly shut-in under-socialized spergs and those people gravitate to progressive politics as a way of "getting back" at the world, so unfortunately no. Revenge of nerds resentment type shit.

>coder stereotypes
this is always a give away of culturally obsessed ignorants, usually either westoid retards and/or cosplayers/wannabes. genderists also use it to, again, paint a fake picture where they contribute a lot more than they actually do.
there is no stereotype. "nerdism" itself is a westoid (mostly amerimutt) stereotypical cultural construct.
there is no "programmers" tastes in music, food, ...etc.
and there is no "teh autists, spergs, and socially awkward" majority.
and there is, no...we could go on forever.
globally speaking, 99+% of rust (since it's mentioned in this thread) programmers are normal men. and there are real woman who code in rust that probably outnumber all the mentally ill.
there are also whole societies with no genderist-centric so called "progressive politics".
>>
>>108628386

Revenge of the Nerds is sooooo jewy, I hate the movie so much. We need Chad nationalism to save the West.

Don’t fall into the hollywood trope that you’re either a jock or nerd. Get in shape, dress better (Ralph Lauren is a good start), and do whatever you feel like. The notion that you have to look like a dysgenic freak to partake in programming is really silly.

You are literally ESL or low iq if this is what you're taking from anything I've said. I'm an ex national champion motocrosser, which is one of the most athletic sports on the planet, and a mechanical engineering major. My interest in systems programming purely for my own enjoyment and hobbies. STEM is not "nerd culture" I never said otherwise.

You're the only dumbass here who is creating some nerd/jock dichotomy. All because you didn't understand a reference to an american comedy about social retards grouping up to get back at normies. I'm really sorry you are having a meltie over your own failure to grasp the conversation.

It's funny to see that anon's view and then compare it to my software development career where almost all developers are married and have children. My first job out of college was at a dotcom and it's the only job where a significant percentage of the developers weren't married but they were all in their 20s and were sociable. I've crossed path with the shut-in type that anon mentions but they're far fewer in number, at least in the professional world, than the stereotype would have us believe. But maybe it does apply to FOSS types who insulate themselves and create their own fantasy world from which they mentally operate. I don't have a lot of direct experience with people like the Rust maintainers but in the corporate realm, most developers are normies.

>But maybe it does apply to FOSS
it doesn't. if anything, og FOSS types liked the world too much.
"spergz" do exist. but those who manage collaborative projects do asynchronous non-face-to-face communication just fine. and there is no "zee have resentment and want to revenge against the world".
"resentment" types did appear, but only when the concept of "communities" started to be pushed so nocoders can feel like a part of it, and microblogtarding (on twitter then on mastodon) inflated that phenomenon. but those "resenters" were mostly non-programmers, and actually sociable. but they still don't exist in most projects (which are one man shows in any case), and where they exist, they don't have much relevance/effect anyway.
the "nerd" (and similar) stereotypes is total westoid (mostly amerimutt) fantasy.
