>Smartphone

No
>>
cat something

I wonder if it would be feasible to make your own. What's a dumb phone anyway a few radios and a battery? Someone else's firmware, and then get someone to wrap the whole thing in a rugged body.
>>
>>108629828
Yeah it's not an impossible task. You can buy plug and play radios for raspberry pis, for example.

I heard this phone sucks.

I haven't tried the modern Nokia, but don't expect much for this Alcatel. It's a basic 2G phone which cost $19. I bought 2, and 2 spare accumulators for $6 each. Battery lasts for about a week, depends how much you're calling. No need for charger, when battery is low, I just pull spare one from a tool box, and another week of power is back. Internal memory is a few kilobytes, so if you want custom wallpaper, ringtone or listen to mp3s over 3,5mm jack headphones, you need microSD card. I got a few 2Gb and 4Gb, this is enough.
One thing I don't like is there is just one speaker, Pretty loud for ringtone, but for calls it uses same speaker. Even on lowest volume surroundings hear what the other side talks. But it's ok.
Phone survived a lot of drops. Latest was pretty hard when I was getting out of a forklift after stacking hay bales, phone dropped from 2 meters, broke into 3 pieces, but still working like brand new.

There are no dumbhones. They are all smartphones but with less user control. The last real dumbphone is along the nokia 3310 era, but even the 3410 already had internet access and isnt really dumb. All these phones can be remotely controlled through the modem to enable remote listening so they aren't secure or private in any way. The best thing you can do is buy a phone that you actually control and make/keep it dumb. Best way is google pixel + GrapheneOS + not installing any apps + disabling WiFi and mobile data. There is your dumb phone.

New Nokia is a different company and has nothing to do with Nokia from 20 years ago.
Their phones are cheap plastic shit now.

Common issue with the modern cheap dumbphones, and it's really fucking stupid.

All your unencrypted texts get swallowed up by third party hackers
Including Feds
Naw don't get it
iOS has the best encryption available to the mainstream status quo
You could get a GSMK Cryptophone if you got thousands to shell out
N
Maybe just 2 thousand
Still iOS is best bang for yo buck
Like an SE second or third gen weigh 3 GB RAM is enough for your everyday needs
Cause if you want some semblance of privacy your options are quite narrow
Stay away from Android unless your gonna load Graphene or some comparable anti Google bot net OS
As android is based on linux enough to be configurable as a decent iOS replacement presuming you can somehow encrypt texts
Which Android cannot natively do
The Samsung Text app that became obsolete recently insists migrating to Google Talk or whatever
Some real mark of the beast type of manipulation but you know what Silicon Valley and the Zionist monsters in Mossad do best

There's no such thing as a simple dumbphone in current year; best you can get is a KaiOS piece of stuttering shit made for geriatrics.

They're going to deprecate 5G and 6G to turn your phone into paperweight before that. You need the latest slopphone with the latest spyware, anon.

availability isn't the main problem. it's just that most apps and things you probably do on the phone is optimized for vertical. having to constantly switch between landscape and portrait gets pretty annoying. in hindsight, the unihertz titan would've probably been a better bet than pic rel

Yes. In a Music player when playing a song you press Option > Set as ringtone > Set as incoming call ringtone (or Set as alarm ringtone)

Pic related is a picture from my Alcatel's camera. Maximum resolution is 240x320 and there is option for 128x160. Why would anyone use that? They even implemented picture effects (Normal, B&W, Blue, Green, Yellow, Red, Sepia, Negative) and digital zoom.

I find a basic/entry level smartphone with small 4 inch screen is better choice. Just never connect it to Wifi/Internet and it will be more useful and durable that dumbphone.

But its so hard to find this type of smartphone nowadays.
