I hate the way KDE looks, but love the way Cinnamon looks. I will likely try xLibre either way just to see for myself, but how is it for gaming compared to the crazy performant KDE + Wayland of nowadays? I'm on Arch and gotta say, good ol' KrashDE sure does love krashing. But fuck when it runs I am getting equal if not slightly better fps on games (outside of counter strike 2 because apparently valve fucking hates Linux in this context). My experience with xorg was xfce on Debian years ago and while I loved the desktop experience, the lack of high fps and VRR in games killed my love for it and made me swap off Linux altogether. Arch seems more stable than ever before and I'm interested in xLibre for it's VRR and more modern handling of my mouse. Any way I can actually use my 4000hz mouse on XLibre? Or is it still only Wayland that can handle that lol?>Inb4 use caseI like using the hardware I paid for.

how do you guys manage to make kde crash so much i genuinely do not understand
>>108630587Actually I don't know, but I have to say, I really like picrel, I never used Cinnamon in my life, because I always thought it's "oldschool" but this looks minimal and modern. /g/ usually hates on anything GTK / Libadwaita / GNOME.Honestly, just try it. There is a user group / mint community and they talked about how cinnamon works best on default Mint and has a perfect integration with the OS, that even LMDE can't match for some reason. So I'm not sure how well Cinnamon is optimized for Arch.
>>108630894I really like KDE. But I experienced multiple krashes and small bugs on Fedora. Still, it's probably the best DE for most people. And the reason I'm currently on GNOME isn't krash related.
>>108630937i have never experienced a single crash using kde on arch
>>108630894This was me last year. Zero crashes. Now it crashes at least 3 times day
>>108630587You know you can use something like XFCE on Xlibre, no one will tell anybody. In fact I'm using it now and XFCE is a fantastic WM
>>108631013I do love xfce, but I think I'd prefer the look of cinnamon nowadays. If I was less employed I'd love to use a tiling wm.>>108630917Fair point on the being matched for mint. I love how it looks there, yeah!!
I really don't get the krashde meme
>>108631269You don't until you do, in my experience.
>>108631269n-nandayo??!!!
>>108630587Isn't wayland coming to cinnamon this year? (not the experimental they have now)
>>108631451they're constantly improving it but I'm pretty sure it's still experimental until at least 24. unless they decide it's stable by 23.2 or 23.3 or something
>>108630587>Have some samba shared folders between my cachyos and mint.>My phone can read both>Mint can read cachyos one>Cachyos can't read mint one. It times out most of the time, as if mint is cock blocking cachyos for daring to see its precious files.I really don't understand... I guess this is what I get for using arch distros that is always up to date and I have to tinker everything to work.>>108631451Yeah, but now I'm interested to see how xlibre works on cinnamon. I might just use wayland when it's ready though.
>>108631539check the firewall mint comes witht a standard all out no input
>>108631562I did. Like I said my phone can read mint folders just fine though a file manager app. I will manually make the ports later for both firewalls. It shouldn't be happening though.
