Mac OS X on Nintendo Wii!

awesome if true

>>108632409
cool, I would use it to emulate wii games!
>>
Soon other PowerPC consoles and maybe those PowerPC Amigas could get ports.
>>
That's pretty cool. I'd like to see it running on a Gamecube.

macs have:
>soldered SSD/RAM/WLAN
doesnt exist on 99% of PCs
>when pajeetOS runs out of RAM it swapfile rapes the SSD to death within 3 years
doesnt exist on 99% of PCs
>when the SSD dies it bricks your entire currybook because the EFI is stored on the soldered SSD to save $0.05 on a dedicated chip
doesnt exist on 99% of PCs
>components serial numbered and tied to the motherboard to prevent repair and replacement (including battery)
doesnt exist on 99% of PCs
>riveted keyboard that requires total destruction of the chassis to replace
doesnt exist on 99% of PCs
>flexgate cables that are so brittle they crack from opening your screen past 90 degrees more than 2 dozen times
doesnt exist on 99% of PCs
>screens so fucking shit they have over 90ms response times (essentially 10Hz)
doesnt exist on 99% of PCs
>screen made from pajeet trash glass that cracks from temperature change in seasons or tape over the iBotnet webcam
doesnt exist on 99% of PCs
>so fire and explosion prone the FAA have banned them from all flights
doesnt exist on 99% of PCs
>uses phone CPU that's so shit it gets destroyed by decade old i3s from 2017 and can only "compete" by cheating at benchmarks in extreme edge cases with hardware accelerators
doesnt exist on 99% of PCs
>curryniggers at apploo get so full of sniffing their own currynigger silicon shit they ship currybooks with no fans and they run so hot they melt the keyboard keys
doesnt exist on 99% of PCs

>keyboards with 63.5% failure rate
unheard of on PCs, and yet you curryniggers defend it with "jus werx fer me!"
just because you're in the 36.5% survivor group doesn't make your currynigger trash any good
this list goes on forever
there's no PC laptop as total fucking currynigger shit as crapple's streetshitter books
they are the biggest heaps of steaming currynigger shit in the history of computing second only to curryPhones

If Sega wasn't retarded with business handling the Dreamcast would have PowerPC/Voodoo

Both run PPC.

There was a third party addon card that let your Amiga run Mac OS 7.

You don't need any card to run m68k Mac OS on Amiga.
There's literally virtual machines that use the m68k CPU directly, no need for even emulation outside of just devices. ROM sits in RAM.
>>
>>108635180
is this another identity of rabidz7
>>
>>108641424
It ran the OS directly on hardware, no virtual machine. I remember it mostly because Apple threw a fit because it had a reverse engineered Mac boot ROM and tried to sue them.

>>108641439
It runs in a virtual machine, the most popular one was ShapeShifter.
It's identical to running a VM on your desktop in modern days.
>>
>>108641467
Yes, I am aware that you can run Mac OS in a VM on an Amiga if it's powerful enough. What I'm saying is there was a card that let you boot to it directly. This would've been back in 1992 or so when being able to dual boot your Amiga to run Macintosh software would've been a somewhat relevant thing for actual work use due to RAM constraints and the shit all desktop publishing software available on Amiga.
>>
>>108632409
For me it's Windows NT on Wii.
>>
>>108637455
Both of those would have been worse than what they ended up using.
>>
>>108641511
it doesn't need to emulate any extra chips of 68k mac hardware? if they even had any kek. what a load of shit those were next to amiga and st.

I assume it had whatever chips were required on it. From what I remember, most of the Mac secret sauce was in the BIOS ROM, which they either reverse engineered or (alleged by Apple) ripped wholesale. They didn't really use special purpose chips that you couldn't buy off the shelf. It wouldn't be too long after that that Apple did their whole experiment with licensed clones, after all.
There was a similar card around roughly the same time that let you boot Mac OS on an IBM PC, but it was basically almost a complete reverse engineered Mac (complete with 68k CPU) built from off the shelf components that went into an ISA slot in your PC, so I have no fucking idea what the point of that one was.

Pretty nice read. He had to rewrite some bits of the kernel which I am just finding out is actually open source
>>
>>108642555
It is, people used to do modded kernels for x86 with like SSE4 emulation for machines with only SSE3 in the early days of x86 hackintosh (or kernels that ran on AMD CPUs)

and the most important part is that PowerPC was big endian and modern POWER is little endian. all modern ppc64 linux distros are little endian, powerPC OS X is big endian
>>
>>108642844
Many PowerPC chips were bi-endian.
>>
>>108642844
no, modern POWER is bi-endian
"big" POWER was big-endian only for a long time (up until POWER8), as well as the 970 family (as it was a POWER4 core with VMX bolted-on), while "smaller" PowerPC was bi-endian

This thread sent me down an autistic rabbit hole of trying to find a risc-v devkit powerful enough for normal use and light gaming. Then realizing FreeBSD probably has full support for these devkits and working out the least amount of compatibility layers to get that to work.

Because fuck you not only will I make my own console and desktop OS but an entire ecosystem!
