I feel like there is going to be a famous research paper a decade from now called the "driver seat paradox" where the better AI becomes, the more pronounced the biggest problem and largest hurdle of trying to program "around the user" being fucking retarded is going to be. All the coping of zooming in seeing one pixel off on the fingers and consistency between shots isn't going to be a problem years from now, but mouth breathers is gonna be a big one. I tried watching this pretending I was in the year 2010 and AI wasn't a thing and it occurred to me that even if this was the most gorgeously animated thing I have ever seen in my fucking life, with voice actors sounding like Cowboy Bebop tier VAs putting their soul into every word out of their mouth, at the end of the day this comes across as those bargain bin DVDs that grandma accidentally buys thinking it's a real disney movie. I've seen AI shorts where I can tell the person behind it is a witty motherfucker that knows how to tell a good joke, but not everyone is that clever which means we are gonna have the same problem we've always had, of shitty directors and good ones. Lord knows programmers know all too well how it feels trying to make something retard proof and AI isn't exempt from this. The filtering system of quality is going to kick in and we are gonna be back to square one, where AI movies will be accepted as a genre like any other, another genre tab on movie websites, and you better pray to your god it has a "filter by highest rating" on it.
