Why is this still a thing in the current year?

Legacy applications are the only reason anyone even uses Windows.
>>
Why wouldn't it be

Just convert everything to 64bit, we have ai for that now. 32bit was already outdated in 2010
>>
>>108637663
who is going to pay someone to do that
>>
to be honest software industry went bad pse 2 & 5 32-bit might still work, 64-bit pse until year 2018 release activation is skilled worker tier

Business/sales niggers never allow tech debt to be addressed. Banks are still running on Fortran for fuck's sake. If it isn't a shiny new bell or a bug that is pissing off customers, no human capital is being dedicated to it.
>>
>>108637663
the only reason a program needs 64bit is to use more than 4gb of ram.
>>
>>108638926
What about efficient processing of 64-bit floats for scientific calculations, financial modeling, audio/video processing, and simulation/video games where cumulative single rounding errors fuck you in the ass?

Using 32bit instead of 64bit can cut the memory usage of most programs by half.
Also, I have an eternal grudge against macos and apple because they disabled 32 bit program support with an OS update and decades worth of perfectly functional software became unuseable for no reason.
