What are yall doing to prepare for the innevitable tech disasiter
Be it government overreach
Mythos hijacking everything
Ai spying
Ai slop
Priced out of everything
Age verification
Digital id etc etc ya get the idea.

My goal is just to never use a computer again and live like an amish but instead of amish more of a y2k ludite where i only use vhs, dvd, cds, mp3, books etc.

Hbu? Hoarding? Piracy? Servers?

I currently have a backlog of movies, shows, anime and vidya that would last me a good 2 years if shit hit the fan. If i started to notice it getting worse id buy more hdd and download even harder. Probably disconnect from internet before the big event. If any hdd fails in future id most likely be priced out of it and at that point its gone so injust might go full ludite and never consume anything pre 2007 in terms of media/tech

Saving all my favorite corn on local drives I think the world governments are gonna shut it all down soon with ID verification on all browsing + shutting down all VPNs somehow

I'm downloading the full debian dvd set so I don't need to connect online to install programs and dependencies from the repository.

I guess it depends on how long you plan on holding out with vhs/dvds but I wouldn't trust it too much. VHS players and dvd players shit themselves all the time and are practically unfixable.
I think for best longevity use hard drives in a raid config for daily access and an LTO tape archive for data that doesn't change much. Vacuum sealed LTO in a basement or other kind of temp controlled environment will last 30+ years.

I am going to procure a pre-engineered metal building PEMBs and a bunch of containers where I will install my infrastructure.

I am thinking what kind of vehicle would be the right choice for going mobile. Probably a truck. Something in the vecinity of a MAN TGM.

why do preppers only exist in america? I have never seen them in germany for example

Yeah you want to LARP and day dream while still depending on modern technology.
If shit hits the fan, newsflash, you won't have electricity and you won't have food. And you will miss food more than electricity, I can tell you that much.

Europe is smaller. America is incredibly vast. Untamed even.

What software should I backup offline? I have a couple isos(windows,Linux, opnsense) and keepassxc exe and appimage. Is their a comprehensive list with links

>What software should I backup offline?
some LSPs
a good IDE
some programming books
you don't need more
>>
>>108646417
that's a good question.

saving ISOs of the most important operating systems is a step in a good direction. If I were you I would saved a local copy of the source code of the software I use to perform daily operations, considering the most essential tooling for each platform.

For example, for WIN infra I would save the most important Visual Studio Code stuff. The whole suite.

Is important to imagine you don't have access to remote providers. In that situation, another step in the right direction is to have a local Version Control System. For example a Gitlab Community local. And of course the source code of Gitlab Community, not the docker container. You need to be in a position where you can build your own container ready for production without access to the internet.

Virtual Operating systems can be a good idea. But is an option I am currently exploring. You also need a security plan. NIST2 can provide you with the right path according to the size of your operation.

Probably get into radio.
>>
>>108646519

totally agree. Back in the day people sent source code through radio waves during pre-defined hours and people retrieved the source code recording the transmission in cassette tapes. I think this was done in Europe during the 90s or 80s.
