>buy spare walkman>listed as "for parts">listing mentioned issue was probably belts (usually is DESU)>listing also personifies the tape player, clearly cared about it>open it up, belt is fine but play button does not move motor>find the motor switch>press motor switch>turns>IT WASN'T THE BELT>the motor switch was just misaligned>play for a few minutes>tape stalls>open it back up>belt slippedit's always the belts
>>108647515is picrel the model you're describing?
almost, got a slightly newer one.But it really always in the belts with old casstte players. Rarely the issue is corrosion from batteries that someone left in it but that's user error. The walkman sports also usually stay in better condition because they have some basic waterproofing which keeps dust and other things from getting in.
cds > cassettes > vinyl
>>108649430CDs are digital and digital is gay. No difference than playing on your phone or computer. Cassette is king. Vinyl is ok.
>>108649748like if you're going digital and using a cd just use a better digital format. Vinyls are nice but can't exactly walk around town with a bag of vinyls and play them.Cassettes on the other hand, one in your pocket one in your walkman, good to go for a while.
>>108649748>>108649835all of your vinyl and cassettes are being made with digital masters unless you're listening to boomer garbage top 40 shit from the 80syou're getting psyopped into paying for crappy formats that degrade with every single use and have to use extremely finnicky (and often expensive) equipment to play them that could damage them at any moment. nobody has fun trying to put back together a tape after your player tears most of its guts outmeanwhile my cds are high quality, dont degrade, cant get damaged during playback because its read with a laser, are perfectly playable nonetheless even if you scratch the fuck out of the bottom, are far more portable, and are cheaper because hipsters flock towards cassettes and vinyl while ignoring the superior physical format that killed both of those in the first placei have a bunch of vinyl and cassettes because i fell for the meme too so im not talking out of my ass but im selling all that shit soon to buy more cds with. tyler the creator cassette i bought for $16 when the album dropped is now going for $80 lol gonna get some killer albums
>>108649976imagine thinking the appeal of cassettes is their audio quality.
>>108650013>i dont actually care about the music i just want to look like a hipsteri accept your concession
