On my arch install I run a script that executes "yay --noconfirm" and shuts down my PC afterwards every day before I go to bed. I have yet to have any problems with this method and I've been doing it for a year or two now. I recommend this to everyone who spends several minutes every day babying their installs and answering a machine's yes or no questions like a slave.
>>108648803>run updooter script >leaves computer while it's running>updater shits the bed during the update>come back for work in the morning>stuck in Grub menu unable to load the kernel>unable to contact boss because you don't install spyware like Slack on your phone>lose job due to not showing up>have to sell the computer to pay rent>bought by a teenager on ebay for 1/3 the price spent>mfw they install Windows on it>mfw homeless now all because I ran a vibecoded script to handle the most volatile part of arch
>>108648803same, but without a script (atm)>sudo dnf up -y; flatpak update -y; showdown now
>>108651064I'm not mentally retarded so I can fix my system should anything break, and even if it takes me an hour or two it would still be a net positive on how much time it saves me. And that's assuming it does break, which it hasn't so far.
>>108648803Reinstall and reset your passwords, you have malware.
>>108648803>sudo shutdown now
>>108648803I have never used linux are you telling me there is no shutdown button?

>>108648803>yayhope you aren't using aur packages, might as well just hold your ass open at that point
>>108651938Why would you assume that?
