Is it just me, or have all major search engines over the last few months/a year lost a lot of accuracy?I also noticed that you get the same results regardless on whether you search with google, duckduckgo, or whatever
>>108650978there are whole grifter guru shit revolving around 'search engine optimization'i hate those niggers so much
I also noticed you posted this thread months ago
>>108650988alternatives? there has to be an old version of google available somewhere right?>>108650989no I didn't
this shit was literally like 2 days ago in a reply limit thread but youre pretending that you've come to this conclusion spontaneously. ive seen this behavioral phenomenon constantly on this board.
>>108651012post link and I'll delete this thread
>>108650998idk, you can do before:year thing on google becuase seo shit got extremel worse with ai
>>108651043that will give me old results with the new engine, not new results with the old engine like I want
>>108650978It's been like this for literal years, Anon. How have you only just noticed? SEO's ruined search engines many moons ago.
>>108651056idk about 'old engine'local searx or many other alternative search engines? but tb h >>108651061 desu
>>108651061I noticed retard, but it was still usable until recently
>>108650978>you get the same results regardless on whether you search with google, duckduckgoThis is not true. Google still provides more accuracy.
>>108650978people have been saying search engines have been regressing for years but i must admit i haven't noticed it. Google feels the same to me as it always did.I once got into an argument with someone over it. He insisted modern search was absolute dog shit so i asked him to give me an example and he literally showed me this search>"gl unwind"and he was mad that opengl documentation weren't the first result on the page lmao
>>108650978yes. they want you to use their dogshit AI to search now. (and it's often wrong, too)
>>108650978I use Kagi because of this. When your free trial expires just sign up with a new email or alias.
>>108650978The results are less accurate but it doesn't really matter, the AI answers everything for us and it's better than the results would have been.
I hate that Google search is still the most competent one even though it's been enshittified by Sukdeeps for the last ten years+. I tried giving Brave search a try and it can't ever retrieve a first-party result for a topic that Google gets on the first try.
>>108654618sometimes I want to search for a specific video or meme and AI doesn't help with that.Sometimes I write the video's title word by word and it doesn't appear
>>108650978>enshitificationit's deliberate. this video explains in detail: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_Ai-fC-2Bpo
>>108650978They have been useless for at least half a decade.
>>108655383>watch a half an hour video brohow about you go fuck yourself bro?
it's AI. if normal search works well you won't try the AI shit for searching. how else can the middle managers get their AI gainz for their bonuses.
it's going to be really bad when people crack how to optimize their websites for AI recommendation.
It all went downhill ever since Google lobotomized reverse image search because it started getting good enough to find people on social media. I haven't used a search engine to find something I didn't already know exists for nearly a decade at this point, it just can't do what I want it to.
>>108650988It's gotten to the point where I'm forced to use Claude sometimes because the search results are just too shit. I'm grateful that StackOverflow is still running; high-quality stuff there.
>>108650978>Is it just me, or have all major search engines over the last few months/a year lost a lot of accuracy? Can confirm. I use a lot of searching as part of my job and the implosion in quality is quite clear. Even search results on pages 2 and 3 are mostly drivel and I have to keep on searcing to find what I need.
>>108650978I noticed that putting something in quotes or using a - to exclude something doesnt actually do anything now. I literally get the exact same results. I think they do it to push us to AI because that now gives better responses.
>>108650978>over the last few months/a yearSearch engines have been dogshit for at least six years now>>108650988This. SEO killed search engines.
