Is this true, fellow fa/g/gots? What have you vibecoded? Does it have any utility? Is it demolishing jobs?
Even before AI, the vast majority of programmers was already either producing useless goyslop or actively making existing software worse (see the reddit word "enshittification"). So what you should be asking is not "why is there no influx of new software?", but rather, "why is software still degrading at the same speed as before, and not 100x faster?".But yes, I don't think that has happened yet. We'll see

>>108655637 He's correct thoughbeit
>>108655361>why is software still degrading at the same speed as before, and not 100x faster? It IS degrading 100x faster. We are starting to feel this with increasing downtimes, slowness and irresponsiveness all over the place.
>>108655883>>108655637He's wrong, it applies to "programmers" and not "majority".Also you should kill yourself. It's cleaner that way.
>>108655327>>108655439>>108655479If one person with an LLM is "100x" more productive, that means companies will cut 100x of their employees so fewer people produce the same slop at a lower price. Shareholders view cutting labor costs as the easiest way to maximize profits, not producing 100x more slop. Shareholder-driven capitalism is a race to the bottom (for the consumers).

Can you imagine the glorious world in which we torture vibe coders to death over the course of several months? Just the most horrific fucking torture you can imagine. Cutting off bones over days and force-feeding them. Cutting off genitals and cooking them right in front of them. Every single time they try and resist they get beaten to a literal inch of their lives. They resist even more, and they get the lobotomy plus the beating, and then some more beating once they've recovered. Blood splatters across the room that they're forced to lick clean, lest they have their tongue dragged (with their bodies attached, if they prefer) for a ten-miles car trip.Y'know, just no longer treat them as human beings, but as disposable garbage. And anyone who complains get the same treatment. Like the Soviet Union, but for actual chads.

>>108656335>Violence is the best way to either fix people, or at least to make them shut up.That's largely true but I'm concerned about the unintended consequences. Once you open the gates of hell, you lose all control over where things will end up. Only if and when there is a credible threat to humanity (which I'm not ruling out) would violence be justified.I think GSR (gossiping, shaming, rallying) is sufficient, as well as listening to music or downloading art which was not made by AI, setting up systems which allow us to verify it was made by humans, and associating with people who value the work of the human mind.
>>108656740>Once you open the gates of hell, you lose all control over where things will end up.Thankfully my ADHD turns me into a communist in that regard: that's a future-me problem, if any.>I think GSR is sufficientFor normies, sure. But autists? They cannot be shamed or rallied against, otherwise GNOME wouldn't be such garbage. No, we need violence.
>>108656740Also a purity spiral should be avoided, stuff like "you asked claude a question today? EVILLL". It alienates too many people and provokes a counterreaction like what happened with wokeism.
I place no intrinsic value on the work I consoom being "of the human mind" and very much agree we should segregate human made output from AI output, so that training future AI continues unimpeded. Think of the "creatives" as farm animals to be milked.

1. Many companies had insanely bloated teams, it was a thing even before, but got insane during covid time. Imagine a team of 50 engineers which do the work which 5 guys could easily handle without breaking a sweat. People are basically cruising on autopilot. 3 months to redesign a few buttons in a web app type of shit. Then covid happens, people stuck home, their "productivity" collapses to the shitter. Yes, it became even worse, for many reasons. For every one guy whom just worked as normal (or even better) from home there would be 10-20 retards who'd fail to function. Company panic hire additional retards to prop up their collapsed productivity, ballooning those teams even more, it kinda "works out" (not really lmao, it mostly worked because some retards finally realized how to work from home) to their pre-covid shit levels. Then the free money train of covid relief stops, people start finally looking that a lot of their investments and products were shit and useless (Remember Metaverse from Faceberg? 70 billion bucks down the drain) and star slashing crap left and right. Then the market gets double teamed by AI tools. So it's not like they've made a ton of new shit (some did), but just that they've finally stopped using 100 retards for a 5 men job. Now it's 25 retards with AI and such.2. There are in fact a fuck ton of new shit being made, with way shorter deadlines and time to market. The reason you don't notice it because you've never notice shit until it becomes popular and most of products and services don't even become popular and just die after a while. I've personally released two customer facing products, tree internal tools and generally was able to go into areas where I didn't have enough skill - I've just used those LLM to guide me through the initial bullshit and such.
>>108656059>If one person with an LLM is "100x" more productive, that means companies will cut 100x of their employees so fewer people produce the same slop at a lower price. This is literally what already happened, maybe not 100x, but I've seen teams shrink 10-20x and actually become more efficient because there was less bloat in communication.

I'm coding multiplayer code for an open source project. Everyone's really happy about me tackling such a complex task (everyone's amateurs and I knew nothing about multiplayer code a year ago).It works well by the way. The only AI software I use stays local. It hardly works for my use case let alone anyone elses, and we're not even considering code quality here, just "does it actually work or not?".And even then, this only ever works when the problem is nothing more complex than merging existing solutions. Creating new things with it is so arduous that I question if it's costing more time for lower quality versus doing it by hand. The simple matter of fact is that if these claims were true we'd have exponential growth that would likely be massive overnight. You have an AI that can program, and do research, and do mathematics, and sucks your dick, well great why don't you use it to improve itself? Oh it can't? But you said it was a programmer and it's a program centering around math and research.

>>108661905>Isn't most software practically solved by now
I definitely don't think AI makes me 10 times faster. But still, in my company all potential speed gains currently get eaten up by an explosion of unnecessary tasks. Over the last 2 months we have rewritten all our code in Rust, for instance. If we hadn't done that, the code might be a bit slower and a bit less safe, but we would have already shipped this project.
>>108662272This is how we know we don't have actual intelligent AI yet. An intelligent AI would tell you to fuck off for making it write in a tranny language.

>>108655327we're now realizing AI solves a problem that didn't exist. The speed of software development was never an issue, and neither was the cost to develop it. There was already enough competent people who could work for a reasonable price to produce any software the world needed. The world did not need more software quicker/cheaper as the demand was already perfectly satisfied. And so we've optimized for something that will have zero benefit to anyone

>>108663552It has been a big marketing stunt to impress c-suite clowns, but it also is appealing to a lot of programmers who are happy to automate away boilerplate stuff. Not to mention companies expecting usage.
