When do they start killing the unemployed?
7pm release call tonight damnit.
>>108655042literally nothing wrong with health care as long as you stomach cleaning the blood and shit off of some fat οld boomer's crotch
I am a 130 iq stable genius (tested). Companies should literally be begging to have me work for them.
>>108655800130iq is no where near genius and online tests aren't accurate.
>>108655807watch your tone, subtard
>>108655800my mom has 10 iq points on you, sit down
>>108655846>delusions of the unemployed
>>108655800Just go be a nuclear engineer for the military. You will get wild paychecks in the civilian world with free military training.
>110 IQ>Good enough to to basic things, not enough to get anywhere good>Actual smart co-workers figure things out and do better>Just a midwit at end of day
>"Design team" never EVER has clear answers on what they want their product to do.I know that us engineers are supposed to be able to infer a lot of things but come on guys please throw me a bone here.
>>108655916Do american companies just rely on the military to train their workers?Mate of mine joined the local utility provider (nuclear) here and they spent a full year training him (half of it spent in giant barbecue and drinking fests with the boys) before he was even allowed to work on anything
>>108655946Yes, companies don't invest in entry level roles anymore.
>>108655946Imma be real the government/military is the largest educator with college benefits/certification training/general training. The job experience itself varies but most of the time it covers alot of gaps in training even if you aren't doing your job.
>>108655946>Do american companies just rely on the military to train their workers? No, they expect you to have prior knowledge before getting a job.
>800 IQ>billionaire>do nothing because I realized when I was 1 year old that life doesn't make sense
>Work in IT>I reminded daily what the term midwit really means>The job i work is the IQ test for myself :C
this is my life nowworking 10 hour shifts at a job I hatenobody is coming to save meevery hour outside of work must be dedicated to studying / projects / applying for more jobsI am alone in this hell
>>108655769Um 2027
>>108656049You’re definitely not alone fren.
>>108656049kek the real hell is that part you mentioned about needing to ALWAYS study and do projects like its unbearable desu you have legit no time for anything else..Work, commute, daily life chores already takes up all ur time but the last 2 hours you have need to be dedicated to advancing ur career because these jobs pay nothing if u dont.. Its just sad really if u have other interests u are just fucked
>>108655921get that bread and logout brobeing a better faster slave to the jew is not something you should be jelly about ;)
>>108656049I have no idea how people do this their entire lives, even with 8 hour 9-5 jobs.
>>108655708>I'm gaysame but not necessarily by choice, im just too autistik and banging femboys and twinks is easyToday I worked on some OIDC shit
How do you guys not fucking suicide looking for work. This entire field just is just going full retard
>>108656181>autistic>working on dynamic OIDC bootstrapping providers into authentik>mispell "autistic" as "autistik"im not surprised>>108656187By acknowledging that times are tough and to keep your head in the game, apply yourself, and keep doing what you love (and hopefully its IT shit you can include on your resume).t. was laid off in 2024 and got a new job last year
>>108656200Its just so fucking gay. I was doing good work for my company, overworked, but they wanted more money for AI. My buddy still at the company says moral is in the toilet and everyone is even more overworked and the company is doing just fine. Like we are good valuable employees but everyone has to be a greedy fucking jew
>>108655946>>108655961yeah i think this is going to be a big problem in like 5 years. same thing with H1B. and also cutting federal funding for research grants.if you're not hiring and training entry level engineers, you're not going to have mid and senior engineers. and hiring foreigns because they're cheaper is hypocritical when the administration wants to protect american manufacturing. it's literally the same national security risk. and research grants fund the university labs that grad students cut their teeth in before actually going into the workforce. it's shortsighted in an incredibly obvious way.
>>108656187go get your masters

>>108656368NTA does it matter what the Masters degree is in?

>>108656366We've reached peak "line go up" territory and they're going full slash and burn for some reasonI'm no commie but I don't see how that can be sustainable, how every industry leader can be fine with it, or how the government can be fine with it (well this part I can understand)
>>108656366It's pure psychotic greed for profits. It won't last forever.
Mon-Fri: 8 hours work 1 hour commute 1 hour exercise 4 hours projects 2 hours eating/bathingSat: 4 hours chores 4 hours video games 4 hours warhammer 4 hours d&d Sun: 4 hours gardening 4 hours video games 4 hours warhammer 4 hours d&dHow do I sneak in an hour or two of video games on weekdays once I have a tech job?
americans be like "just finished my work day time to work 4 extra hours at home!"
>>108656511yeah nigga i wish i was from yurop ok? I am tired of the retard nigger slaves in America. I want to chill in spain with all the broke bros and my broke family closing shop at 3 PM and fucking off the rest of the day
>>108656413It's not sustainable. Stock faggot here, there isn't anything these AI data centers can do that is profitable yet. Right now there is insane demand but that's because prices are low. If they need to jack up prices to the point that its actually profitable, or at least breaks even, the demand is going to plummetWhich is stupid because traditional data centers were already profitable. Whether it was the google cloud or amazon's aws or microsoft's azure, normal boring data centers made money. Like a ton of money. But the AI data centers are 1) more expensive to make 2) more expensive to run/maintain 3) burn out easier 4) can't do anything that is more profitable than normal data centersso yeah, my tech exposure is only 6% for a reason lol
>>108656382because like a true 130 autistic supergenius (not you midwit iqcel larpers) I would rather neet all day and waste my intelligence dumping 2000 hours into a factory building autismbox simulator or fps and working on obtusely autistic personal projects with zero commercial usecase instead of being a goyslave working on bean counting software for globohomo inc and getting my "good goy" resume points so I can pass hr foid stacies shit test for my next job
>>108656599enjoy homelessness when ur parents cant support your NEETdom i guess?
>>108656413>>108656456i definitely think it's not sustainable but it has downstream consequences that persist even after the bleeding stops. it's similar to low birthrates. even if companies "decide" to flip and start investing in domestic talent, new students have already been dissuaded from pursuing the major because of how bad they've heard employment is. plus, however many graduates that worked shit jobs or switched careers and now their skills are weaker than they'd otherwise be.it's just kind of weird that the country is experiencing this "golden age" of programming and AI, where you'd figure companies would invest hard into the workforce to take advantage of it. i think the firing because of "AI efficiency" is a smoke screen for interest rates being fucked and companies not having as much money to throw around. but i guess "we can't afford to pay junior engineers" sounds a lot worse to shareholders.
>>108656511you know what's even funnier? they do drugs to endure that shit.yet they post in forums like this bragging about being americans and saying their country is not a shithole
>>108656368I have my masters and I’m still unemployed. It’s over.
>just built and implemented an AI solution that will make half of our workforce obsoleteI feel bad
>>108656626i've lived my life through cycles of>luck into a high paying do nothing job>leech until I get fired>neet for 2 years until savings run out>repeatthis iteration is just a bit harder than before
>>108656685Just add "prompt engineer" to your resume
How exactly will AI become profitable? I don't see the mass market adopting it and I don't see adapting it for the mass market either. All I see is tons of chatbot garbage comes in all stripes, yet people don't really show interest. It's almost like they're throwing money in fire and hoping for a miracle. No doubt you can make a quick buck from their stocks now, but then what? -90% and another 15 years floundering at the bottom like it was after 2008?
>>108656703AI models get cheaper over time, the issue is they need to keep making them smarter to compete with each other, and that all costs money.Someone could profitably run Haiku 3 without issue, but it's too dumb to do everything. All the money is being poured into training, not use.
>>108656723>Haiku 3 >20b paramaters>but it's too dumb to do everything.anything*
Is there ever a situation where someone being jobless is their fault?I know someone who has nearly 10 years of dev experience but now hasn't had a job in a year. He said he's looking and has sent out 200+ applications, but no luck. Also, a lot his positions were typically around 1 year and then he would get let go or leave on his own for various reasons. Is the market actually this bad or he is doing something wrong?

have you thought about pooling your money with your boys to do investments? I was talking with a friend of mine I graduated with about doing some gay scheme with like 4-5 of us to buy property or whatever and split all the costs/profits. assuming the people I go in with are trustworthy and reliable, why not? is this a retarded move or are we clever? why don't I hear more about people doing this?
>>108657309Consider some points >first and foremost, your friends are now business partners>this will result in a contract>this contract will likely provision for someone to have the right to sell his share, meaning the others will have to buy them out>everyone will have different ideas on the property because it's 5 people>who's deciding on administration, maintenance, etc.?now does that sound like a great idea, or a horrible idea
>>108657326100% I think there are pain points but that's the trade off. either frontloading the whole thing as one person or splitting it among many. I think an ideal situation would be if you had like, multiple properties in the pool to actually get hedging and scaling benefits that you wouldn't get as an individual. if you had like 6 multifamilies between 3-4 people, it's less devastating when one of them sits empty for a bit.we're all in our 30s and are pretty established, so I do think it's different from than if we were all like 20 years old. I think there's stuff to work out but the juice looks like it's worth the squeeze from the angle I'm looking at. but maybe instead of 4-5 I pare it down to like... 2-3 real niggas
>>108657364if 3 people can afford 6 multifamilies then why not just have 1 person with 2
>>108656783>Also, a lot his positions were typically around 1 year and then he would get let go or leave on his own for various reasons. That's a big red flag. It means he's always at junior level at every job and never got intimate with the codebases and systems he worked on. >10 years of dev experienceIn that anon's case, it would be like claiming you've got 10 years experience brushing your teeth.
>>108657309I have no clue on businesses like this (or any other except for small time stuff), so take my opinion for what it is: an opinion from some anonymous retard from the internet.>assuming the people I go in with are trustworthy and reliable, why not?that's a big assumption.>is this a retarded move or are we clever?like the other anon said, there are tons of "what if"s. you better ask a lawyer. I'd also suggest asking >>>/biz/, but consider that they are retarded, if not outright malicious, though some of them might give you some useful info, maybe.> 4-5 of usthat's too many people already. not only you have a lot of "what if"s, you also dilute responsibilities too much IMO.>>108656783I 100% agree with >>108657481 . it's really, REALLY odd to have ~1 year of employment with each employer. also, >he would get let go or leave on his own for various reasonsyeah... that doesn't sound suspectful at all.

>>108656783market is pretty fucked, it gets flooded with thousands of people who have years of big tech/FAANG experience every other week so employers can afford to be super picky. when that's who you're competing with, having blatant evidence that you're a serial job hopper doesn't help
>>108657409i meant longer term. there's stuff that scales with having multiple. stuff like having maintenance guys or having solid leases or just learning how the game works. going from 0 properties to 1 property is a big jump but it's probably not so bad to go from 1 to 2, or 5 to 6. so you kind of spread the knowledge, for one. but the other thing is hedging. if you have 2 properties and one is fucked up, that's a much bigger deal than if you are splitting 6 properties and 1 is fucked up.also getting my foot in the door is a lot easier if i'm three-waying a house with 3 people, than if i'm all-in with just me. and we'd get to the multi property stage a lot quicker since it's proportionally less. it's literally a third less. if we could each buy one, then we could collectively buy three.and it also opens the opportunity to diversify. maybe some multifamily, maybe some small bay industrial, townhouses, etc.>>108657495fair point. this was really a thing we were just shooting the shit about. talking about investments and stuff and then going "you know, fuck, we could just go in half-and-half on something. i bet you so-and-so would be up for it too. we could probably get a handful of guys and split a place for basically nothing".reason why i didn't go to biz is because i'd like to see what my fellow autists think about it, and i think you guys have some good points. smaller is probably better, but it might be worth actually discussing it further and maybe seriously considering it.

>>108657593>Demanding accountability from womenOh man i nearly got the ass chewing of my life in the military for asking an Officer(female) to do that very thing for her very important meeting that i couldn't go to since she never told me anything. More so she admitted that she didn't bother to contact my leadership about it which would've been the first step on stealing personnel for work from another section. I was never luckier since.

My boss has a new project that I’m sure I’m going to have to build that will be a bunch of AI agents with different tasks. One of the agents, aptly named the “observer agent” will automate white collar tasks by observing the human worker, taking notes, asking questions, and will create a program to automate that task. I’m not trolling. He wants to automate this entire process. It is by far the most AI psychosis-pilled shit I’ve ever heard and it’s completely absurd. Automating tasks is one thing, but having it do the whole pipeline, especially gathering business requirements is so fucking stupid. Does anyone else have an employer like this?

Ime the clueless managers don't understand ai in the slightest. Even the term LLM trips them upWell, he is the manager lol and not technical in the slightest. Dude sees it create a login and some backend KYC logic (nothing face-detection related, just CRUD) and thinks it can do anything. I genuinely gave vibecoding a shot on this last project I had and it was a complete mess but the third in command of the company, who was also a part of the project, won't explicitly admit that it took just as long to vibecode it as it would have taken to do most of the project by hand with some AI use. He'll beat around the bush and will hint that was the issue but he'll never say it, and then him and the co-owner of the company will talk about how AI can do this and that, but can't tell you the difference between a model and an agent (there isn't a difference, kys if you disagree)

>>108658964Sec+ and a niche government job. For you SWE i would consider project management/manager/devops.
>>108658964Same anon. I have Comptia ITF+/A+/Net+/Sec+ and Cisco CCNA with a Masters degree. The actual masters doesn't matter for IT jobs however. Sec+ is required for goverment IT jobs and likely required for programming jobs. I would recommend looking into Systems Admin aka server administration if you want to flex your programming skills in a job that will respect it.

How do you answer "why do you want to work for us"?
>>108660187You need X and I need money.
>>108660187How about you give us your thoughts first to demonstrate a little effort
I graduated last May and I've been working as a Software Engineer at a startup for 7-8 months now. We overhauled our app and I've been the lead developer on it. For the past 4 months, I've been working 10-12 hour days and nearly every weekend (told to or the workload is so much that I have to). The work is stressful since my manager is non-technical with an aggressive temper. Most meetings end up with me being demeaned or yelled at when I push back on things that are near impossible to implement. There is also no senior on the team so I'm constantly worried that I'm going to run into a problem that I don't have the skill or experience to solve. Right now I'm doing all the development, testing, deployments, and sysadmin support.Every day I start work with dread and I wake up anxious to a crazy amounts of Slack messages because my manager is in Europe. I haven't been able to sleep well and my latest health / blood checks were horrible (I'm 23 and fit). All day, it feels like I have a fight/flight response and I start physically shaking during demos and when I see new designs in Figma.Everyday I tell myself I'm going to quit tomorrow and I just need to make it through today.I've tried applying to jobs, but no bites. I have just under 1 YOE and the market is rough so I'm thinking about trying to change careers or enlisting in the military.I know this general has been negative and I hate to contribute to it, but I'm lost on what to do.
>>108660239Keep applying
>>108660187society forces me to have a job
>>108660187I hate Jeets and you are a defense company so unable to hire one or subcontract to one
During university i used to be able to tackle on 6 courses per semester, 4 final projects, and 2 classes with lab quizzes. I pushed through after dinner and did it all on weekends too. I ended up only having 2.94 gpa anywayIt's been a year and 5 months since i graduate and now i just dont know what to do. I know i gotta code everyday regardless and keep making projects, apply for jobs, prepare for psychological tests, do take home tests, prep for interviews. Sometimes there's just chores coming up over the days and i dont want to play catch up at night / weekends. I thought i could start learning to draw too with all these abundance of time but i just wont start. My most productive day is probably just applying, do some take home test if any, then scroll/sleep for the rest of the day.I tried getting qa jobs. Getting admin jobs.400 applications, 21 take home tests, and 6 interviews so farMaybe im just that type of person who cant see himself doing this thing for more than 6-12 months. I just cant seem to tolerate doing something like webdev for at least the next 5-10 years when i cant even stick to a routine for more than a month.I know im getting older (turning 25 in may) and being unskilled for so long is harrowing. I know that if my end goal is working in government and passing the selection so i dont have to send out applications again for the rest of my life and getting my pension taken care of i still gotta be able to do basic CRUD.I know that turning 30 our bodies will start to breakdown and if i dont utilize the youth i have now to gain opportunities i will just suffer worse down the line.I keep seeing people with compsci degree but they're able to find work in visual development, game art, animation, and i just cant help but jealous, but i know they can achieve that through putting their hours too every day.
i am failing upward against my will

>gained like 40lbs because of stress eating>haven't done a single thing at work all week starting to think maybe it is time to try my new job called unemployment. shit seems kinda swell to relax for a month. go have a run at 10am when all the annoying cars and people are at work/school. take walks in the park, go to the gym when it's not crowded. just actually get back into my hobbies. meh money feels like it'll work itself out but i don't think I can take the work bullshit anymore, i've been so disillusioned with it and if I hear optimizing pipelines and streamlining workflow with AI one more time i'm gonna snap
