On January 1st, I am releasing a preinstalled disk image of a fork of MidnightBSD I created that takes 18 years to boot and checks to see if it's being accelerated in a vm (and makes it brick), therefore making it unusable by anyone underage without adult supervision. I'm calling it MidnightBSD: California Edition.I'm gonna do the same for every other OS that says it's gonna geoblock California. I really, really want this to go to court and if I win or lose, I will likely make money off a gofundme that I wouldn't even have to start. See you fuckers at DefCon this year.

>>108657980this is cool, but why would this go to court and what are you hoping you'll achieve
>>108658008I live in California. Distributing a preinstalled image (as opposed to strictly source code) makes it fall under AB1043 scrutiny since that makes me an OS distributor who is not implementing formal age verification or providing an API. And, I'm gonna do it as loudly as possible on day 1 of the law coming into effect. I'm also releasing a 9front that has "age verification" as a file you enter your age in and agree to do when downloading while ticking a checkbox. This file is created on startup and all it does is allow another program to sanity check it and make sure it is a positive number, thus satisfying all of the brackets, and then link the user to shuthub.us (the 9front repo), since 9front doesn't have or need APIs (everything is a file) or a store/package manager. The point of THAT is that to implement the law in 9front, it wojld fundamentally change the structure so much where it wouldn't have the core functionality of 9front - thus making it not a "compelled speech" issue, but a "this entire style of building an operating system is illegal" censorship. SOMEONE is going to be first to go to court for this, and I want it to be me becase 1. fuck that law and 2. it'll be profitable no matter what - I'll never face jail time and if I get hit with fines, I won't have to pay those, or my legal fees no matter what because this will automatically generate publicity.
>>108658072*shithub.us, my bad
>>108657980>See you fuckers at DefCon this year.remember to dilate
>>108658072Go for it anon. I'd recommend consulting a lawyer first to make sure you cross your t's and dot your i's
>>108658094I'm just there to drum up publicity. Those trannies would donate to me, too, and tranny money is just as good as any other money.
>>108658097It's a civil case no matter what, so at the end of the day, the worst I would have to deal with is fines - and it's per child who accessed / used the software (and they won't be able to prove any did because it'll be impossible for the 18 year boot release). I don't give a shit about consulting a lawyer, I used to date a lawyer, she was a dumb bitch.
Maybe I should call it Faggot Edition instead so that state civil prosecutors have to say it.
lol
