why do modern operating systems take so much ram when they don't do anything that older operating systems didn't? ubuntu 16.04 did everything i needed it to and a lot of stuff i didn't even need. is 26.04 just doing thaat much more stuff i don't need. is that what i need to buy ram for, so my os can do ton of stuff i don't need or even want it to? using a computer in 2026 is just embarrassing, like paying $8/lb for ground beef, $4/gal to drive a plastic cuckmobile, or $8/month to watch fucking advertisements (americans truly do this). i need a new hobby, i'm tired of feeling like a bitch using this obvious goytech. if you bought ram in the last year you might as well have gotten a complimentary horse dildo with it. i'm actually starting to envy poor people.

high average pc specs allow devs to get away with shit code optimization which drives the demand for newer hardware which results in even shittier code and this will go on until the computers either cannot improve further without becoming unaffordable or until your notepad text editor or a calculator utility runs a completely separate full fledged google chrome version in the background for every instance.
