When are you coming home to the Void, anon?
>>
How does it counterbalance the lack of RPM and DEB support?
>>
>>108665075
It doesn’t “counterbalance” it—you just stop relying on distro-specific packages.
XBPS + source builds + Flatpak/AppImage covers basically everything.

You just use xdeb that converts deb packages into void packages. Just make sure you don't brute force it when it shows an error or else you might rape yourself, or at least so I've heard. Had no issues with it myself. Also you can use void-packages either from the official github or from other githubs to build from source like with the AUR.

Is the person who made that tweet even part of the team? I feel like this distro has a revolving door of devs.
>>
>>108665070
IMPORTANT REMINDER
Void has 2 major versions. glibc and mul

CHADS use glibc
TRANNIES use musl

Choose wisely
>>
>>108665070
why not just use Alpine? it has no systemd, uses musl and busybox, and doesn't come with any display server/compositor. also it's used as the base for containers, so it has great software compatibility. I know Mental Outlaw hasn't made a video about it, so maybe you never heard of it...

NTA but I did like Alpine. I'm very surprised how much software is available on the testing repo. The maintainers seems gigacringe though, so it spooks me a bit. Also not sure how well some of the proprietary software I use for work will work on Alpine. I just had it installed on my laptop I keep next to my server since it only has 4GB of RAM. It was fun to set it up. I went for MangoWC (wayland) while keeping everything as stock Alpine as I could and avoiding systemd/freedesktop parts as much as I could. I did install dbus, but part of me thinks I could avoid that. Alpine has the making of a great, lightweight politics free distro, but I'm worried that it is not actually that, so I'm switching to OpenBSD for my 4GB laptop (but I will try Alpine again later on a stronger computer to give it a fair shake).

Considering the new round of Kommunists go out of their way to try and cancel Richard Stallman and used to do the same to Linus, I don't think this is a fair comparison. Stop being censorship fags and no one would care.

Linus used a tongue-in-cheek reference essentially saying he supports people's right to choose who they are, essentially. The shock jock Lunduke used the comment to boost his popularity to blow it out of proportion.
Most people don't care if trannies or blacks code as long they are trying to shove their CoC in your face and mouth to choose what you get to say.

Yes in fact, if you force people to pay for it out of their labor with the threat of prison or physical force. You turn charity and thankfulness into coercion, slavery and jealousy, that is demonic.

I don't watch Lunduke, Fox news, and I do have a job. You'd either have to be incredibly biased or willfully ignorant to not notice that the left has been engaging in aggressive censorship, especially within tech spaces, for the past decade (with 2020 onward being especially aggressive). Stop being a partisan retard.

xorg fucking sucks compared to wayland compositors nowadays, it's not even a contest. i don't like red hat but i just hope the guy maintaining xlibre finally decides to get rid of the legacy cruft and do some modernizations

>>108665234
>Alpine has the making of a great, lightweight politics free distro
that only means it's a future tranny/globohomo target, if they haven't bent the knee already. there are too many distros suspiciously quiet and vague over the current age verification bullshit trying to introduce smartphone levels of social control to the linux desktop and any critical project that doesn't actively denounce them is a potential point of entry. alpine refused xlibre so i'm certain where the future trend goes. i'm tired of all these gay slippery slopes

Banning you from a Discord server because you're a /pol/chud isn't the same as Trump FCC's revoking broad casting licenses for reporting news unfavorable to conservatives lil bro

>>108665527

You're such faggot it's unreal. You being assmad about Trump doesn't give you free reign to censor normal people. Also, just in principal, if you engage in censorship first don't be surprised when you start getting censored back.

If you throw 100 punches and then get punched back then you don't get to go "WAAAHHH I'M BEING VICTIMIZED"
>>
>>108665514
Alpine specifically said no xlibre for political reasons. The political reason for that belief is because xlibre was open to everyone, even chuds. Void is superior to Alpine because even with tranny programmers they aren't shoving their CoC and politics down your throat. In fact, it's nice to see a leftist, even or maybe even especially a troon, that isn't forcing a dogmatic belief on others. The stupefied transformation of the "left" since Occupy Wall Street is astounding to say the least.

Nope, actively maintained. But it could always use package maintainers, docu writers, bug finders and fixers, etc. It's one of the easiest projects to contribute to.

almost everything. Void still doesn't have the mullvad client. I know I can just use wireguard, but it's not practical like the regular client. If this gets fixed then I'm switching to void from fedora.
