>>108669463bought it in 2024. Past due. I bought it from Micro Center.
>>108669485Dont know. Just tested one of my spare gpus 2080 and it works. So its not the power supply. However, one more test Im going to do is go buy a adapter for mini 12-pin to connect the two biugger 8 pins to and see if that is the issue. Will cost less money to replace than getting a $3K card.

picrel is my current build, which I put together a handful of years ago nowI am wanting to upgrade, specfically for messing around with local LLM/AI shit and also getting tired of having to run non-max settings in vidya for good framerates at 1440p (target 120/144hz)AMD video cards seem to have been cucked hard by all the AI stuff, so I'm most likely needing to sell a kidney to pick up an nvidia card with a usable amount of vram (16gb? 24gb?), but not sure if I should look at an overall system refresh at the same time2500burgerbux is about the max I'm willing to drop on this right nowcheers

Need some advice, this is my current setup. The PSU is EVGA B3 650 since it doesn't even show up as an option. Friend told me to upgrade the CPU, but for that I think I need to change the motherboard too so I kinda want to change the case too for a prettier one.So yeah, main things are the CPU, motherboard and case, but I guess if there's something any of you think I should upgrade too, I can.Budget is like 1k€ but it can be higher. Also PC is mostly for gaming.

Update on guy guy who fried his gpu:The display port and the first dp slot in my gpu got fried. I found out when my new 5070 Ti didn't work with my current DP cable. I used a new DP port and suddenly it works. So I put my 4070 TI back in. Since my gpu has three dp slots, I put it into DP 2. It works. I was thinking about buying a 5080 but man why does it only have 16GB so I just went and got a 9070 XT instead, if only the former had 20GB or 24GB I just don't like the price at 16GB. Need the VRAM for VR and 4K but 9070 XT barely fits for now, I can resell this in the future if ever they sell a better card with better memory at cheaper (hopefully) prices...
>>108673814Yeah exactly how I see it. That's an insanely stupid price.
>>108673819Doesn't the 9070XT get barely half the performance of a 5080? More than RAM goes into how far a GPU runs.
>>108673827That's the thing, it runs so well but I can't make use of it fully when it's only at 16GB when playing my VR games at a better resolution. My old 3090 uses at least 22GB.
>>108673765Games have been stuck in arrested development because of computational complexity for both multithreaded workloads and scripting problems. The only place for developers to move into was graphics, and its been that way for a long time.Games like Minecraft and fortnite showed developers that moving away from processing power and focusing on a low barrier for entry on the graphics department is the best move. Pretty much every game AAA game thats bwing developed is being developed for the Xbox series s. And before that it was the xbox one s. You can't forget that a game like cyberpunk was developed for the xbox one s and that shit has ray reconstruction as an option now.All these games are significantly limited because developers want them to run on a potato and it doesn't hurt that it's easier to develop a game that runs on some ancient 4core processor and then just tack on whatever the user can handle graphically.People gawk at the 5090 but it's running resident evil at the same framerate that the 1080ti was running games at 4k when it came out.

>>108673864>7900 xt for $400Nigga where
>>108673845>5080 releases.>Same price bracket as every High-end non-titan GPU.>Same performance uplift over the 70Ti of the same series.>This is bad this time and cope because Linus Tech Tips made an upset video about it.It's literally always been this way. The 80s have a 15-20% uplift over the 70s. The MSRP goes up 20%-30%.Yes, the "Real world" pricing of GPUs sucks right now. But, I got my 5080 for below MSRP, stop applying your shitty situation to me.
>>108673869If you think you need a 5090 just buy a rtx 5000 pro. Wasn't somebody on here flexing their 6000?
6080 should be 24GB at $799
>>108673887They had all planned to gaslight 5080 owners when the 5080 super came out, but since that never happened they had to fall back to the 5070ti and 5090 which doesn't hot as hard.
>>108673894The Wuthering Waves rig before selling the GPU for a 7900XTX
>>108673911You probably made money off that didn't you.
>>108673940You know it
>>108673738unless you're playing esports you care. you have a mental illness if you just keep playing the same single player game for 6000 hours.
>>108673788no.5070ti will last just as long as the 5080 and will provide identical performance.
>>108673993what fucking game do I care about having the best graphics for? What game becomes better with max shit? Literally nothing
DSC is supposed to be lossless but it is actually lossy just on the level that is unnoticeable to most. However seems to be compression on a variable scale rather than a fixed amount, so how much compression exactly does it have to be before the final image starts being noticeably degraded? I'm using this calculator:https://trychen.com/feature/video-bandwidthIs it when the DSC icon turns yellow, and green is when it is more or less seamless?
>>108674001ok then keep using your 1060-6GB and stfu?
>>108674037Im using my 3000 series card and no game requires me to buy 40 or 50 series.
>>108674007when the compression ratio is less than 50% it goes from lossless to lossy. for 1440p @ dp 1.4 this starts at 300hz. it wont look bad immediately but the more hz you go it will start becoming noticeably bad. the latency impact from dsc is probably more noticeable but that varies on gpu implementation. nvidia used to have issues with dsc for example.
there's really no hope for cheap RAM anymore huh
>>108674112That number seems to be on 10bit. I'm still on 8 bit so it would have to be way more than my monitor (280hz) for that to happen, it seems.
>>108674203return to DDR4 and DDR3
>>108674205you dont have to worry about DSC unless you're like fiddling with CRU or trying to overclock your monitor.
>>108674439That's not a good price...
>>108669341>pcie 5.0 gpu on a pcie 4.0 mobo
Just bought all these parts. The cooler and motherboard were free gifts that came with the CPU/GPU respectively. Also got Pragmata and Crimson Desert for free. Good deal?
>>108674521pcie 3.0 ssd on a pcie 2.0 slot too
>>108674472I don't get it
>>108674585>Good deal? Those two bundled components (plus $60 value game) don't offset the obscene memory, SSD, & GPU prices. It is what it is in this market.
>>108674633>It is what it is in this market.Yeah I meant taking that into consideration.
>>108674521>Frog poster is retardedPottery
Reminder that you should plan to spend about as much on a display as on a GPU. Your current monitor is fine, you say? Your current GPU is probably fine, too.
I'm looking at cheap-ass $100 L shaped desks to hold my $4000 WFH / Gaming setup. There's about 7 companies on amazon that all sell the same cheap-ass $100 desk but with minor differences. Seeing all these companies compete in the same shitty $100 L shaped desk niche made me laugh.
>>108674686>5090 enjoyers MUST spend $2000-3000 on a monitor that's larger than their room
>>108674723he's saying you shouldn't spend more than $1000 on a gpu
>>108674728A gpu is no longer a graphics processing unit. People run rows of workstation cards with cheap lcd monitors from 2009.

>>108674705>both bitches using a laptop when there's a desktop right thereAnd yeah they get the same parts from the same company and just add their own variations to it. Saw the same thing when I was looking for a cheap dresser.

why PCs smell weird? Every PC I had build in the past was creating a weird distinguishing smell.
how's the 9070xt reva?
