Why don't you own a Surface right now /g/?
>>108691522I do own one, but I took it into the bathroom to fap and dropped it on my hard tile floor. Now it's a bushed terminal I bring with me on vacation when I need to pay bills abroad. When it was brand new I loved this thing. So pissed I did that. Also the felt can separate on those soft keyboards but before it does they are so nice.
>>108691522because i have T480.
>>108691538The felt is fucking nasty in corporate environments when we used to have them. Laptops should be built like bathrooms because people are disgusting.
Always thought about getting one, but could never really justify it. Also hear the linux support on it isn't that great.
>>108691633>linux supportWho cares about linux in 2026??
>>108691522Why would I buy anything from Microslop?
>>108691522I own a Surface Pro 6 from 2018. It's kinda slow nowadays even for just browsing but I haven't found a good replacement, a new Surface with decent specs for 2026 is like more than double what I paid for this one and I refuse to give 'em that much. I also refuse to buy their ARM garbage, if I wanted and ARM tablet I'd buy some Android or iPad thing, not fucking Windows.>>108691633There's a project making custom kernels for Surface devices, depending on the device in particular you can get up to pretty much complete hardware functionality. But then again no Linux DE on a touchscreen is super great in terms of actual usability, so eh. It's not so great if you actually want to use the device as a tablet.
>>108691522>mfw poor
>>108691522I prefer fat workstations with two fans.
>>108691522that keyboard looks like shit.I have a ThinkPad.
>>108691914because it's good. it's industry standard so linux supports it pretty good.
>>108692191Linux also let's me create my own "industry standard" ecosystem though. I would only buy a Surface if I was going all in on the Microslop ecosystem, but M$ is dead to me after all the vibeware and Copilot bs. If you went all in on the M$ ecosystem power to you ig
>>108692061>that keyboard looks like shitIt looks like shit but it's actually been good since the Pro 4. Not ThinkPad good. But not much is.
>>108691522I still have an OG Surface Pro from 2013, though all I really use it for is tethered shooting and occasional web stuff. I've always done most things on my desktop.
>>108691522because my t430s better
>>108691522But I do
>>108692739>Using a ThinkPad Mini DockBased
>>108691522Because it can't run Windows 7.
>>108691522I tried one years ago but returned it They are much worse than laptops
>>108691522iPad is better.
>>108697438Not until they give it MacOS. And even then the Surface Pro will give it a run for its money as a productivity device.
had one years ago and was underwhelmed by the performance
>>108697530My SP 7 i5 can run AutoCAD 2024 without issue and it doesn't even have a fan. I don't know what kind of performance you're expecting out of a 9mm thick tablet.
Because I have a latitude myself, OP
>>108691522Because I have a Macbook Neo.
>>108697604Based. Wintoddlers btfo
>>108691522I'm employed
>>108691522I had a surface pro 4, i eventually sold it.
>>108691522I think lapblets are for super gay babies.
>>108691522I have a phone
Microslop 11
>>108697521Wrong lol. Even with iOS iPads have ALWAYS been better than garbage surface pajeet trash going back to the first gen iPad
>>108691522no usecase + there are better machines for that price tag
>>108691522
>>108691522Usecase?
>>108691522Piece of shit, have on of those surface things, it started discharging on its own, like you leave it in drawer for two days and it's empty. ton of other people with same issue, some kind of hardware fault but m$ is playing dumb like they don't see a problem and it's normal for laptop to discharge over time if not used. yeah but it takes weeks not two days.Never again will I touch any m$ hardware also the r3ddit aesthetics, keyboard is wrapped in some kind of carped, I hate it.
