What kinda question is this? You use all the methods. Sometimes staring at it just works. Stepping through sometimes makes it immediately apparent too, but not always. Lots of debug printing is often very helpful if multiple applications are involved. Sometimes you have to get even more creative because printing is expensive and the issue has to do with timing/race conditions. Or maybe it's a heap corruption that happened awhile ago in some completely different part of the code. Sometimes it "works on my machine" but not your T&E guy's and you have to make him special builds with special logging. Sometimes the bug is in a library you are using that is not open source or the operating system and not your fault at all, but you still have to come up with a workaround. Sometimes the bug is in the hardware and you need to poke things with a multimeter or stare at an oscilloscope.

I am currently in an "interactive process" with my employer regarding access to Claude AI. Here is why "no" is not a legal or functional answer:
1. The "Effective Accommodation" Standard
Under the ADA, an employer doesn’t just have to give me any tool; they must provide an effective one. Because of my [ADHD/Dyslexia/Cognitive processing] needs, standard tools or lower-tier AI don't work. Claude’s specific "Max Token" context window is the only thing that prevents my "cognitive fragmentation." Providing a tool that doesn't work is the same as providing no tool at all.
2. The "Undue Hardship" Myth
Some companies point to subscription costs or recent price hikes as a reason to deny access. But legally, "undue hardship" means an expense that would cripple the company. For a professional organization, a $20–$30 monthly fee is a negligible "business expense" compared to the cost of losing a trained employee or facing a discrimination lawsuit.
3. Leveling the Playing Field
If you wouldn't tell a hearing-impaired employee to "just listen harder," you cannot tell a neurodivergent employee to "just read faster." Without Claude, I am being judged on a disability I cannot change. With it, I am a top-tier contributor. Denying the tool is intentionally choosing to keep me at a disadvantage.
4. The "Or Else" of Non-Compliance
The EEOC has made it clear: AI is the new frontier of disability rights. Employers who refuse to adapt or hide behind "IT security" without exploring secure Enterprise versions are opening themselves up to formal EEOC complaints and legal liability.

How do I move forward, I have almost 10 YOE in analyst/SWE roles. Left a no-name crypto startup 5 months ago and haven't been searching that much. I have maybe 10k left in savings and 2 apartments, renting one to pay the loan for the other. I'm from EU so not concerned about ending up on the street/starving but my plan was to go back to uni to finish my undergrad next year. My parents still think I'm employed, and I really want to avoid borrowing money from them. I'm just too embarrassed to even apply since every job wants at least a diploma now even though I have way more experience than most fresh college grads.
