Take the standing desk pill /g/
>>
I had one of those but couldn't stand it.
>>
>>108698301
Why not just squat?
>>
>have electric standing desk
>have the time the cables get caught on something and nearly get destroyed when raising it
>>
>>108698404
westerners don't know how to squat comfortably. To go low the heels always rise. I personally cannot do the "slav/asian" squat even though my parents can. I think it's about ankle flexibility and would probably need months to gain that.
>>
>>108698444
The "slav squat" will bruise your heels. And squatting on the balls of your feet will give plantar fasciitis anyway.
>>
>>108698444
No, it's pelvic alignment. A tilted pelvis makes you stronger.
>>
>>108698301
I would if it wasn't so expensive.
>>
>>108698444
I assume you also have to be skinny like many Slavs are.
>>
>>108698301
I have one of these at work and it just doesn't really do it for me. Then again I also have a fairly active lifestyle at work and home. I imagine if you're sedentary these may nontrivially extend your lifespan.
>>
>>108698484
>millennia lived without chairs and in 2026 onionslads get bruised legs and injuries from squatting

That's why I have one. Gotta keep my heart working even when I'm fucking around on the computer for 12 hrs straight.
>>
I stand all day at work
>>
>>108698301
>your desk job is too comfy
>torture yourself and larp as a menial worker
>>
>>108698301
Standing objectively sucks. Can't concentrate at all when standing.

Low desks where you can sit or squat in various positions is the new/next meta.
>>
>>108698511
no, you don't have to be skinny at all. I'm sure obesity is not helping, but you can definitely be overweight and slav squat.
>>
>>108698301
i've ordered a high saddle chair and will probably get a standing desk. any recommendations?
>>
>>108698301
This only works if you don't get enough standing time each week. If you work a standing 9-5 then sitting down at home is basically required to accelerate your body's repair functions.
>>
>>108698971
i assume he's talking about a sit/stand desk. in which case you can use it however you want. some people have them just for more granular height control even if they never stand

>>108698301
it's too expensive and takes up room space

this is my ideal room

How exactly does a standing desk take up more room than a sitting desk?
>>
>>108699838
>ai slop is my ideal room
cringe

>>108700411
most of them only come in one size: wide
>>
>>108698756
Skill issue. You'd get used it quickly.
>>
>>108698301
I got sit/stand legs for a brand new solid wood top.
I rarely use it to work while standing desu
>>
>>108698756
Standing is good for writers, better for thoughts. Other work not so much.
>>
>>108699838
Damn I need one of those I have the doorframe one but I really wanna hang upside down and have more room for wider grips
>>
>>108700750
>most of them only come in one size: wide
I have one and it can be 120cm to 180cm (flexispot).
>>
>>108698301
You will stand up
>>
>>108698301
I'd need a treadmill at casual - slow walk speed, it's painful to sit in one place still
>>
>>108698875
make sure the desk's feet are wide enough apart. When sitting in the saddle chair, not only are your legs spread open, your feet also point outward.
It's not something I thought about when I got my height-adjustable desk. It's only a minor inconvenience, but when I sit properly on my saddle chair in front of the desk, my feet are resting on the desk's feet.

This.
The shitter is where the best ideas are born.

standing desk + vibecode combo chad here
just passing by to type "continue" and checking the 'chan
>>
>>108698301

I tried it but there are too many cables moving around and I have a really small space to work with. I can just stand up and walk around at my stay from home job. I also bought a nice HM Aeron to force good posture when I sit.
>>
>>108699838
how does that work if you aren't a tiny dwarf and weigh 100kg ?
>>
>>108701341
You're not supposed to face that direction.
You can raise the pullup bar.
Metal is stronger than you think.
>>
>>108698301
they all wobble unless you spend $1k for an autistic commercial grade 4 leg desk.
>>
>>108698301
How's the IKEA MITTZON?
Anybody owns one?
>>
>>108701563
Any desk with only 2 legs will eventually warp the pillars and twist the metal into breaking. It will start by wobbling and the up/down motion will make funny tearing noises. Then it will come crashing down.

Get one with 4 legs or more.

I don't care about living past 50, or living at all for that matter since I wasn't born a girl

I try to stand for half an hour then sit for half an hour
>>
No thanks. Standing is retarded. You are either sit or move.
>>

kek

No. There's no standing L desk. I have multiple computers and monitors
>>
>people that stand most of the time want to sit

So, uh, where do we stand?
>>
I have a bulging l4/l5...so I need to. But after 30 - 60 minutes, I need to sit back down again.
Shit sucks.
>>
>>108705222
underrated
>>
i cut the legs on my desk down to little nubs to create a floor desk. i liked it so much i threw it away and just put my computer directly on the floor. i got a nice rug and pillow and it's perfect. i sleep on my rug most nights with idle games with chill soundtracks playing quietly. lao tzu was right. take the floorpill /g/.
