nothing wrong with that.
zig is turning into an abomination, this faggot doesn't have a plan, he just lives off of women's dye fumes.
Sumner should just fork zig, call it zag and make it great again.

What about zog?

didn't anthropic buy them?

Maybe it's a phase, remember ten years ago when all the youtubers had this hair? Most of them are back to normal now.

i will now use your memelang

None of the YouTubers I watched ever had hair like that.

I can see using AI to help debug software and find vulnerabilities so you can write fixes for them, but why would you trust it to directly write the code itself? Are hallucinations in the code not a concern?

pewdiepie, jacksepticeye, markiplier

not if you don't know how to read/write code from the start.

You wouldn't get on a plane piloted by a person who doesn't know how to fly. You wouldn't get into a car driven by someone who doesn't know how to drive. You wouldn't get on a space rocket designed by someone who doesn't know how to make rockets. You wouldn't put a gas furnace in your house made by someone who doesn't know how to make gas furnaces.

Why would you merge code into your project pushed by someone who doesn't know how to code?

you and I might not, but someone will.

Nah zig still fine. He know what he doing. He moved zig for great justice.

Tell that to those billionaires who think they can replace competent coders by people who have never seen a single line of code in their lives but can tell an AI to write a broken app while they're taking a dump and jerking to nig porn.
>>
>>108703783
Retard argument.
All of those scenarios are life threatening.
Niggerlicious codemonkeys using AI to write code won't kill anyone.
Heck we still don't give a shit about memory safety in general, nobody cares.
>>
>>108705388
It can kill if that code is used in critical environments. Imagine software for planes or nuclear power plants being vibe coded.

you can't kill shit, if those environments allow shit code written by retards to get to prod without testing and without any restrictions then it's already over

I think Zig has a problem in that it's main audience seems to be people filtered by Rust's BS. And as shitty as Rust is I don't think Zig is the answer long-term.
Odin meanwhile seems to have a solid niche as a gamedev language and room to grow there (only competitor there is likely to be Jon Blow's language if it ever gets released.) And golang is mopping up everyone who doesn't care about garbage collection.
>>
>>108708127
Odin is dead before arrival. Gamdevs who have only C++ experience and think they know better always end up the worse developers in my experience.

If they're on their own codebase where they pretend to know shit and have infinite time to fuck around then they'll be fine but put them in any other environment and they blow up.

Go is the only meme language I have used professionally. I'd never use it on a personal project though, runtimes give me the ick.

i now have the crackpot theory that RMS is actualy Andrew from the future that travelled back to the past to initiate the timeline that'd inspire him to work on zig which eventualy somehow leads him to discover the time machine.
>>

>And as shitty as Rust
i find rust pretty comfy desu.
i don't care about the security features much, i just find it pleasant to work with.
nice ecosystem, nice package manager, good language features.
it's far from perfect but it gets the job done from me and basicaly replaced my use of cpp.
>>
>>108709430
only time i've taken a go job it was a jeetfest, quit literaly a week after the first meeting where i found out 14/16 of my collegues would be streetshitters, now i avoid it like the plague.

Odin literally doesn't do anything new, it's just a bit cleaner because it removes a lot of the bullshit. Nobody serious would actually go through the cost of switching from C++ for that. Jai might have a chance though.

rust is a white man language.
the "muh rust trans" psyop is pushed by jews.
no, i'm not trans, nor do i have any respect for these mentaly ill faggots.

Luckily it's not a "go job," we just use go purely for nats-related daemons
>>
>>108709655
you don't know what you're talking about so get a job first.

>Game devs with C++ experience try to fix everything else
Unironically BEEF, though I hope it succeeds. It's trying to be C# with memory management and built-in interpoo with C++ libraries but it's also super dumb, like it has its own IDE and is Windows only at the moment since it's made for game dev.
>>
>>108703433
Chatbots are very expensive fuzzers with only upside that you don't need to manually add any kind of instrumentation into your code. 20000 dollars per bug, maybe. And that's with current "subsidies", that are most likely on their way out.
>>
>>108709610
Well, speculating CPUs are also fast...
>>
>>108710556
>we just use go purely for nats-related
oh hey nifty.
my job is pm just rust but i've been using nats quite a bit, it's a pretty neat piece of software.
jetstream was kinda disapointing to me though as the hub pulls from the leafnodes instead of leafnodes pushing when the connection isn't lost so i made my own delivery system on top of the normal publish / reply with a local kv db.

I agree. It's symbol being a gear emphasizes the spirit of Germanic hard work, efficiency, and technological advancement. The creator Graydon Hoare's last name is Middle English for Gray Hair, which show Germanic roots and experience. The name Rust comes from a fungi that is "over-engineered for survival" according to the creator, which corresponds well with German over-engineering. The language takes many features from Academic functional programming languages, but only adds them where they are a genuine benefit, keeping the language actually usable. It also refuses to allow slop code and rigorously enforces safety, which is absolutely necessary for software engineering. I wouldn't want a bridge to be lazily slopped together, so why would I want the software that controls it to be? If you need unsafe code you have to loudly proclaim you are being unsafe with unsafe {}, which makes it very easy to grep through a project and pay special attention to said code. Lastly, it gives precise error messages which allow the user to quickly fix faulty code and understand how to do better in the future, which is as culturally Germanic/White as it gets. Stern regarding the rules, but forgiving and helpful.
