This (locking you out of making any important changes to your computer) is intended behaviour (because making it work like it should do would break everything.) You're lucky you found this tiny little notice at the bottom of the install guide or you'd think your installation was corrupt!

having a blank password and having no password is the same
>no you can't use the account you just made you have to be a separate user
You can use root as your user account. It's unwise, but nobody will stop you

The rest of your posts sounds like Ubuntu bullshit, which is user error
I use Arch btw.

So you don't even have the excuse of falling for the Ubuntu meme without thinking? You made a choice, and that choice was retarded

You should just reinstall and do it the right way OP.

>>108709086

Just take it from me dog. Reinstall Debian. Don't enter a root password this time. Everything will be like you expect. Debian is a fantastic distro, one of the best.

Interesting, this is an odd way for debian to do it.
Anon, please just use Ubuntu or Fedora. Most beginner linux issues seem to be a result of using an unsuitable distro. Debian is rock solid BUT it's very "traditional" (old fashioned) and intended for greybeard types. Arch and Cachy are aimed at very technical neckbeard types. Most distros are tiny hobby projects and I have no idea why beginners seem to like to choose them. I'm half convinced linus sebastian deliberately chooses odd niche shit like "pop os" to increase the chance of issues that will make for a dramatic video.

Just use plain old Ubuntu or Fedora, you won't run into this kind of thing.
>>
>>108708575
skill issue, stick to fedora, linux mint or endeavour os if you can't get your hands dirty
>>
>>108708575
I'm sorry that you are retarded OP.
