What's the future for Arch Linux?
>>
Artix linux
>>
>>108708628
I don't know
>>
being a base for steamos and cachyos
>>
>>108708628
pacman -Syu ofc
>>
>>108708780
This. Just like Debian.
All Arch needs now is a fat DEI nocoder pajeeta president to ensure more diversity / fewer white people in the project.

fpbp and /thread
>>
>>108708917
So, youre telling me white men voted for a pajeeta to replace their positions and destroy their lovely distro? Wtf man, I thought white men were smart.
>>
>>108709470
Yes just like in IRL politics.

>>
>>108708780

Arch Linux seems like a far better base to build on than debian to be honest.

Most people want something that is fully set up and ready to be used rather than having to install everything manually yourself.

They did make it easier to install standard Arch Linux via archinstall but even that easier faster process is not quick and easy enough for the typical windows refuge.
>>
>>108708628
It will continue to grow and maintain. More and more normal cattle NPCs are migrating to Linux. NPCs who neither know what systemd is or care.
>>
As it stands, arch is just a base os. It needs a distro to become the ubuntu or the fedora of linux, a version with lts releases instead of rolling. And preferably a distro with dozens of people working on it, not just 4 like cachy and endeavour.
>>
>>108708628
>brainrotted goycattle requires innovation to satisfy his endless desire for information overload
nothing ever changes and arch is fine. worthless post
>>
Why are trannies so attracted to arch?
>>
>>108711084
systemd, them thinking they are leet and different like their tranny brainrotted mind loves, etc.

Why do you bring up trannies unprompted

why they should care about the innit?

bought out by Valve, newest corpo distro
>>
>>108711179
wtf, arch fags told me the partnership was good for the business!
>>
>>108708628
I don't like systemd but Arch is just the perfect balance of minimalism and convenience that I don't see any alternatives attractive enough to migrate to.
>>
>>108711202
it is but you're not ready for that conversation
>>
>>108711522
>convenience
There in lies the death of Linux. Complacency and laziness.
Eventually there will be no Linux. It'll be one distro with mandatory systems, gnomez wayland... It'll start getting locked down to the point you won't even be able to install a different terminal.
This is why I never wanted Linux to go mainstream... I was always against the "year of the Linux desktop" meme. Because when the normal cattle get involved you lose
>>
>>
>>108711788

Arch Linux used to be insulated from that but now it's going mainstream due to archinstall making it easy and arch-based distros becoming popular.

Hopefully we will get better software support for it at least (which is the upside with popularity).

This.
Stuff have to be manual and a little difficult (for new users) too keep the retards out.
>>
>>108711751
way to go with that signing server, arch fag! now the devs you make sure pacman wont wipe your configs, right?
>>

dude needs to eat a few fucking cheeseburgers he's looking sickly thin

install void linux

The future is ACK
>>
>>108711165
Gentoo is better if you have a monster cpu that can compile software quickly. You will be miserable otherwise
>>
>>108713628
many such cases when it comes to arch
>>
>>108711788
Not everyone is a college student or a neet, some of us don't have unlimited time to spend fighting an OS. Convenience doesn't mean laziness, it means having drivers that support your hardware, being able to install all of the software you need. Getting shit done in other words.
>>
>>108708628
Is Xlibre page on Arch Wiki back already? No? Too bad.
>>
>>108713854
why do you need a fucked up fork of legacy garbage that breaks a bunch of shit to have a page on the wiki? what would it even say? "don't use this fucking garbage for fucks sake you retard"?

waypists have got to be the most insane sunk cost fallacy cult
there is a reason why about half of all linux systems still use xorg

I pray for the day waypists realize that they wasted their life with developing dogshit software that won't ever see large scale adoption, and no amount of deliberately sabotaging xorg or character assassinations on xlibre will stop the eventual downfall of wayland. If it's not a x server it will be something else because wayland is simply SHIT EVEN AFTER DECADES OF """""DEVELOPMENT""""".

Does linux have a future?
>>
>>108708633
>the future is Arch getting worse and getting slower updates for a circlejerking minority
I'd believe it if it weren't stolen valor
>>
Honestly i can see a future where 90%+ of linux users use something baded on Arch Linux which may seem great but honestly i am not sure.

Main benefit is getting more software that target it but even now you can install debian packages via debtap (if there isn't already an AUR package) so i am not sure if that matter much to be honest.
>>
>>108711097
Doesn't almost every distro use systemd at this point?

They've made some serious mistakes lately, so I suspect they've already been compromised, they need to purge until it's too late.
