Why are there NO good laptops around 1000$ besides the macbook air? Everything else is garbage with weak specs, poor battery and bendy plastic housing. I just want a comfy linux machine for travel but I don't want another le Intel Pentium dual core with 4GB of RAM in a laptop i can bend with one hand

I have an old intel mac I use which feels great build wise but the battery on it isn't that good anymore. The only downside with the silicon ones is that you can't replace the drive or any parts on it once it dies.
