>Everyone is switching to Linux! No, no they’re not. Linux just dropped 0.5% on the steam survey to 4.52% Windows is only going to get better, and improving the problems is a core focus for the company. The bigger problem is that there are not enough viable replacements for common Windows software.
>>108735569>Windows is only going to get better, and improving the problems is a core focus for the companythey just admitted windows 11 was dogshit and that it was a mistake
>>108735586They’ve admitted that it doesn’t perform as well as they want, not that it was a mistake. That’s a pretty big deal for a big corp, usually they never admit anything. In the same admission and subsequent statements by the CEO, they’ve vowed to set things right. They certainly have the ability and resources, let’s see what they manage.
>>108735543Microsoft pays Canonical to sabotage Linux on the desktop
Canonical is only semi-relevant on the desktop now, they gave up on YOTLD and became a shitty enterprise support company.
>>108735543i want my distribution to be boring and workthat's itubuntu does that, so i use it
>>108735758>they gave up on YOTLDI think everyone has. No, Valve is not looking to save you. They just want a platform to support their gaming system, nothing more.
>>108735569>there are not enough viable replacements for common Windows softwareIf you are an average gamer, how much do you actually need other than games, a browser, and maybe screen recording/streaming software on your home PC? Games with kernel level anticheats are an exception, but other than that, most home users don't need anything that only runs on Windows. I admit that for work, I could not do my job without Windows even if IT allowed Linux.
