Something about Fedora feels off. It always has for me. I'm not trying to be funny or troll, I'm being serious. It's hard to put into words, but it just feels strange. It all feels "soft", kinda gooey.

I don't get that with any other distro or OS. Just fedora. It almost doesn't feel real. It's like if I was dreaming that I was using Linux, it'd look like fedora.

Also, and this has nothing to do with it just an unrelated observation I've made, the weirdest people seem to use Fedora. From the fat, balding, sweaty professor, to some random weed smoker you're sure watches beastiality.

Well you see fedora is made by red hat which is controlled by the jews which want to acquire your penis data and sell it to advertisers and your mom will die in her sleep tonight if you don't reply to this post

You dun goofed. I actually think Fedora is a decent distro. It's stable. It just works. I'm talking about the feel of the distro itself. Using it, configuring it, booting it, etc. I'm talking about the metaphysical.

a fedora is a jewish hat
your noticing skills have started to develop, keep it up!

It's pozzed. You feel the AIDS radiating from the screen.

This is because it's actually developed by aliens.
Not jewish aliens, mind you. Just aliens who know where our level of Linux development ought to be at this point in time.

I'm on Fedora KDE on my laptop and Arch KDE on PC, couldn't be any happier. I was on Ubuntu GNOME earlier and felt I needed more customization and nicer desktop-ish feel, coming from Windows.

Thanks anon :p
>>
>>108738112
it's because it ships with default and doesn't do much tweaks. also blue color is soulless.
>>
>>108738112
Maybe every other distro has a concrete place and purpose but fedora is just a corporate midwit with every redhat slop. I have the same feeling.

agreed. i'm not sure if its the babysitting they do with you or Red Hat being its top dog, but it feels strange to use fedora; from booting to installation, from installing packages to using software.
>t. hopped in fedora for some months
>>
>>108738112
The few times I've installed Fedora, it was always slightly buggy. Like the gooey having some minor issue preventing me from using it properly. Dunno if it's the fast release schedule, the lack of proprietary software, or both.
>>
I wish they could port SELinux to other distros. that's the only good thing about fedora. Apparmor is shit.
>>
>>108741412
I find it's usually quite reliable a month or two after release, but right when it's released it always sucks.
Usually that first boot is bumpy - the first thing I do usually after installing is switch to a tty and catch up on updates there.

People call Fedora evil, because they push certain things, RedHat & IBM and more. I personally think Fedora is a great distro, there is a reason why the fortune 500 relies on RHEL. The corporate is full of Fedora and Ubuntu.

Fedora for desktop home usage is perfect, I wouldn't use it as server OS (only downstreams), but it's completely fine. FOSS, Libre... anti capitslism, i know... I like FOSS, but I prefer if my distro has some sort of liability, mainly Fedora, openSUSE and Ubuntu. Those 3 distros with either KDE or GNOME.

I know Arch + forks, Nix and Gentoo homies don't like this and systemd avoider hate this... but Fedora, openSUSE and Ubuntu are the main distros. Perioid.

The ammount of ignorance itt is insane. You guys are just kids playing at installing Linux, you don't know shit about Linux development nor distros.

why they dont even show systemd starting up? inorganic plastic distro.

Pee in the cup, anon.

Becuase of plymouth, disable it or just press ESC and watch systemd output.

Debian has it.

Does fedora gives you "the ick" ?

Everytime I try fedora I get unexpected crashes quickly unlike on Arch or opensuse.
I figured with F43 that maybe it was the fact the crash event handler or whatever the fuck it's called is installed with KDE plasma and that was showing pop-ups for errors constantly. I thought "hey maybe the reason I'm not getting these elsewhere is because they're more silent, but still occur".
But as it turns out, no, not really. It just fucking crashes.

thats pretty cool, ive read that selinux can be a bitch to set up or work with. i like apparmor, theres a lot of preconfigured profiles for it;
https://packages.debian.org/trixie/apparmor-profiles
that reminds me that i need to enforce some of them (especially qbit), i dont know if i will have the time now.
>>108742413
thats a lot of krashes man, my time on fedora kde was alright, but i did got some krashes. knowing what i do now, i wouldnt touch kde anymore.
>>
>>108738112
literally this, I get more frustrated at it than I should, dnf feels kinda crap and the package selection is smaller than you think. copr < ppas or whatever, I havent really touched the system guts since I wanted my laptop to just werk but I can already tell its not great, gnome crashes periodically
thank fuck I'm a voidGOD on my main machine.
I was thinking of replacing it with something else but it just werks and not the effort to reformat shit
t. currently on FEDora
