These niggers never learn.

It's openvino that is Intels secret sauce. Really impressive stuff when you pair it with an ultra and a intel GPU, it's just as good and AI model builder and the same spend on nvidia. AMD is fucking hopeless though

intel never lost

Both CPU corpos have investor-first, user-milking business policies. Why would anyone cheerlead one corporation over the other is beyond me. For the end PC user (before the new normal corpo shills took over the internet) it was always about getting the best performance-bang4buck. It was never about spending the most and bragging about it. It was about spending 20% of the top dog CPU and getting 80% of it's performance for far less. You dumb-dumbs are doing it wrong.

they lost for a little while during the skylake+++++ era, made a little comeback with alder lake then shit themselves again

Intel is not that far behind as AMD was during Bulldozer/Jaguar times.
They are ahead on mobile with Panther lake again, mostly because AMD is sandbagging and starting to rebrand their stuff instead of going for new nodes and newer designs.
Intel has manufacturing advantages, as they are shitting out their server CPUs in their own fabs while AMD depends completely on TSMC.
On TSMC AMD will produce the wafers that make them the most money in that quarter and not what they need to increase their market share and improve long term position.
Sad.

What happened?

Was AMD ever in the lead on mobile? Assuming the goal is efficiency, not outright performance.

AMD lost when their ARM Server CPUs failed and hyperscalers all decided to spin their own ARM server CPUs instead saving them 50%+ in margins. AMD could never overtake Intel in servers even though they've been had better PPA for ~2 gens now, purely because Intel does not need to fight with everyone else over TSMC capacity. As former AMD CEO Jerry Sanders once said "Real men have fabs"

Intel will be competitive when they release the 400 series chips with their own 3d cache.

It's like corporations and investors or something.

Sorry but I'm never buying anything from Intel Aviv.
>>
we'll see how intel foundry does, if intel has to rely on tsmc it's bad for us all

The problem is that usually a major architecture change is required to turn the tables, and that isn't something you can do every year.
You sit on an architecture doing minor tweaks for a decade and then shit out a new architecture. And that goes for both sides.
