If it supported 10-bit color depth and progressive scan, and "-sharp_yuv" was enabled by default in cwebp (it ruins color palettes if you don't, often desaturating like outputs like crazy), then it would've been pretty exceptional despite its faster re-encoding rot and blurriness issues. Also animated webp was a mistake, webm is sufficient.

Next it's kinda awkward having to push play just to see a looping 2 second animation and hit play again.
