>Unihertz>Ikko>Clickswhat keyboard smartphone you're getting?
I still use my BlackBerry Key2.Someone in China is making a clone that is almost identical so I'm waiting to see if they realize that and if I can get one.I'd love to just have an unlocked version of the Key 2 to swap out the old Android version at EOL, but a modernized variant of the hardware would be a nice bonus.
>>108743338The Ikko looks cool, but I don't want an AI phone. I'd prefer a phone that's used to talk to people, not AIs.
>>108743338Clicks has the SD slot so it wins.
>>108743338Let me ask to me nigger friend, he's the one in charge of my consumerist habits.
>>108743443I just switched from my KeyOne - would have run it to death otherwise but since I'm travelling long-term I needed a phone with dual SIM. Unfortunately a lot of critical apps have started dropping Android 8.1 support - I uninstalled Outlook like a retard only to find that I couldn't reinstall it because the package isn't available officially anymore. That and 3G networks have been shut down so it can't make or receive calls anymore, so I was forced to buy something newer.>Someone in ChinaZinwa - they're working on both a Passport unlock and their own phone called the Q27, and you can get an Android Q20 right now which was released last year. Unfortunately though they said in their discord they won't be doing a Keyone project. I really hope they change their mind.
I'm poor so I wish the clicks one wasn't 500 dollars
>>108743338iPhone 17 Pro Max + Keychron Q6 Ultra 8K (Banana switches). You don't need more.
>>108743443>unlocked version of the Key 2 >https://daphnis-past-midnight.neocities.org/wikiCheck this my guy. Werks as fast as stock. Only shit thing about it is dancing with keybox.xml to get google wallet working.
>>108743483That's strange, I guess they announced it and then retracted the idea? Or maybe you're outdated, unless I am.https://liliputing.com/lilbits-zinwas-android-powered-blackberry-key2-clone-razers-laptop-sleeve-with-wireless-charging-and-android-17-beta-2/>>108743540Big if true.I'm reluctant to risk bricking the phone and sploiting my desktop with random mega links, but I will look into this.
I'm making a landscape mode keyboard for cell phones.I went down this whole rabbit hole of adding GUD LCD support for Linux and ran into a ton of issues because the driver was *crap* and I'm trying to emotionally let go. Everything else is done. I have the LLC, I have stripe and the storefront set up. The hardware is all done, I just need to bring myself to let go and remove it from the firmware so I can ship it.
wake me up when one of them works with custom roms
>>108743540>>108743555I read it and I'm convinced enough that this is legit.Appreciate you informing me about this. Thanks.>keybox.xmlThis is something I was afraid of. I'm more than comfortable with having some hacked together potentially unstable developer phone, but I know Google and friends are not happy with that and won't let me use my bank apps.If this is easy enough to bypass I might migrate, but I'll have to look into it before committing. It would be frustrating to have a phone that has a usable OS but unusable critical apps because the powers that be demand all this security and integrity shit.
Does this even have mainline ports yet? LXC?
>>108743338>$600
>>108743603any android phone not running stock android or AOSP is running a custom rom.
>>108743443>>108743338I love keyboards and held out for a long time but gave up when I had kids. I need a pocketable camera setup to capture kid moments so I'm not living around a serious dslr.Wish some chinks would make a keyboard phone with killer cameras. Sadly they still think just because you have one gimmick you can skimp on the cameras.
>>108744710You're right.I think we desperately need modular phones since vendors do not know what combos consumers want. That would be perfect. Want a good camera? Buy one and slot it in. Don't? Then don't.It will never happen though because nothing good ever happens.
