What a bargain this thing was the best possible bang for buck scenario. 10 years old still plays everything in my library of 300 games 1080p/60 on high settings. I don't just play indie either, only just now am I finding the latest AAA games can't be handled by it. Got it Jan 2015 right before crypto, covid, and AI. The leafbuck was pretty much on par with USD. $1500 all in and every part lasted this long except the 970 which I replaced with a cheap used 1070.Even now there are 50 games in my "to play" list which it will handle easily. This thing will still last me until GTA 6 comes out I suspect and hopefully through the ram crisis.Let's see yours.
>>108746632>Let's see yours.It's new.
>>108746632i have a similar system, currently disassembled. i am on the hunt for server parts for it. i am going to undervolt the cpu and build a home server with it. it just continues to work. downgrade is the new upgrade in this economy.
>>108746632I was on a 4790 for a long time too. I think that started with a 6770 --> 7850 --> 7870 --> 970 --> 1060 --> 1070 --> 1070 Ti. (I was buying/selling builds so I got upgrades in a lot)
>>108746799Actually it looks like I got the mobo at the same time as the 7870. The i5 was later upgraded to the 4790 from an alienware I flipped.
>>1087467994790 is the lebron of CPUs
>>108746632Man the 4th and 8th gen were the last good without a cooling tower sized asterisk attached intel CPU generations.
>>108747333Then which is the Jordan (superior, of course)?
>>108746632it easily runs all the games I like
>>108746632>16GB RAMunusable. other than that it's fine.

>>108746632>Haswell>Pascal>16GBIt's pretty ancient nowadays but it's not too terrible either. I had a similar rig, but 4460+1060, and it was showing it's age so I upgraded. It's still a perfectly functional system though.
