I love this lil nigga like you wouldn't believe. From it's snappy performance to it's alien UI - a masterpiece of a software
>>108746826>can't run on GNU/Linux
>>108746832https://alternativeto.net/software/zbrush/?platform=linux
>>108746832No one in digital arts is using loonix so it doesn't matter
>>108746826All my favorite Android apps are gone from the Play Store because good developers won't play Google's fuckfuck games.
Just werks :3
>>108746875>why you dont use troonixi dont have anything of software that i have in windows there>offers bootleg handicapped versions of windows software made but some geek in his free time in last 20 years as viable solitionfuck troonix and its pushers
>>108746826zsh & fzf
>>108746875everyone in digital arts uses linux, at least render farms.there are even professional arts software that target primarily linux, like foundry and nuke, which are still industry leader for vfx. even windows only, autodesk software has a linux software for rendering and collaborating.
>>108746875Linux is heavily used in the 3D industry. Disney used Linux to produce billion-dollar Academy Award-winning movies like Frozen.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z-4c3JSLVww
>>108746826Hm... I like Sublime Text and Fire Alpaca. Even though they're both closed source, they're snappy and practical. I also like Github Desktop and couldn't imagine using something else (the CLI is not pleasant and the 3rd party TUIs like lazygit suck)
>>108747168>at least render farmsWhat kind of cope is thisthere is no Maya on Linux, there is 3DS Max on linux, no Inventor, no SolidworksYou couldnt even pull Adobe in 30 years do to a mickeymouse version for troonix that will be compatible with windows .psdagainyou troonix retos are talking about shit you have no clue about>even windows only, autodesk software has a linux software for rendering and collaborating.fuck your buzzwordsrendring you do on farm you dont give a fuck the shit they run it on or on your GPU, you never ever see linux for rendering.collaborating how? screenshare?
>>108746875All the big studios use Linux
>>108747239>in my head this is true
It does everything I need, on every OS and configuration I use, and only improves over time.
>>108747226Resolve and Houdini run on Linux just fine. Coloring is exclusively done in Linux
>>108747310Yeah, Nuke too. They also run much faster and there's less friction with cuda/vulkan
>>108746832What else is new?
>>108747314Yeah all the foundry products work on linux. That retard talking about photoshop like they used fucking photoshop in movies kek it's pretty much expected that you run Mari on Linux
>>108747324Nono you retards are talking about subsection of nodebased programs like node base pushers you are.Houdini is jsut overcomplicated Cinema4d, Thinking particles or TYflow recently. Its a buzz name of the industry, whole program is replaced by 3rd partry plugins in traditional 3D software.Same goes for Nuke.>premiere is bad not fucking node based wtf are you talking about movies as if a single troonix tard ever worked in industryNuke works on Windows as well
>>108747378
>>108747226>there is no Maya on LinuxBut, anon. Maya runs on Linux since foerever.
>>108747226works on my machinesounds like a skill issue
>>108747630Maya wasnt part of Autodesk could be whyStill you dont have soldiworks alternative AT ALL>freecadgtfo
>>108747378houdini mogs c4d. c4d can't even into composition in big '26. even blender mogs c4d
>>108747378you've never done complex composition in premiere or non node-focused compositors.when you have scenes with 20+ sources, trying to match grading on each and every scene, you start to understand why nuke, with it's dated ui, is still preferred over premiere.pic rel is treatment for a single source among the dozens that are on screen at all time.multiple layers of keying, controlled grading. it's in blender, but I'd have something similar in nuke/natron.
>>108746826Everything is great.I also use Opus instead of File Explorer
>>108747867This is no doubt my most used/invoked program and 2nd place is not even close. This changed how I used the computer. I'm fast as fuck.
>>108747865>node pusherofc you are troonix user, color grading in premier is not harder than in nuke and stop larping hereOnly edge to of nuke is native 32/40bit support and that shit is not called color grading>>108747754absolute troonix mindsetCinema4d and Houdini exist on WindowsYou can use Cinema4d to do 90% 9f Houdini projects without houdini exclusive dependanciesYou can do 100% of Houdini in Thining particles and or Tyflow with less hassle of Houdini clunk bullshittery with jumping drom program to program to model texture rig then bring back to VFX in that pile of flaming shitIm not even going to start to shit on that appliance you mentioned not worth it
>>108747957try grading over 5 different matte and see if it's still practical to use premiere. premiere is for sloptubers that just need to bump up saturation and make jump cuts.
Command: Modern Operations. More of a simulator than a game, lets you build and execute military plans. Insane level of detail. Huge database of weapons systems going from post WWII to modern day. Perfect for an autist or boomer with lots of time on their hands. (You) won’t like it.
>>108748137Is it realistic or a HP-bar number smashing kind of game? How would you even do AEW when it's all classified?
>>108748885Realistic. Details from various systems of course leak to some degree or another. There’s a Pro version of the software only available to the Pentagon with a more refined database. It won’t have flight-sim level of accuracy for every single unit, since you’re working at the operational level.
>>108747207holy shit have not seen anyone using maya in like 15 years.
This is so much nicer to use than blender, everything is super intuitive and I don't need to memorize a million retarded short cuts to use and can instead just use the mouse for almost everything. Autodesk is slowly letting it die and it's starting to get very long in the tooth but I love it so much. I really want to move to blender but it feels so unintuitive in comparison.
>>108749784Have you been living under a rock or something?
>>108750037You should be glad they are only doing under the hub performance improvements without jeeetifying what everybody in industry know for 3 decades3dsmax is only 3D packet and always eas that was mandatory for basically unlimited scene sizes.Every other program collapses on itself no matter the RAM no matter the CPUAlso>modifier stacki saw a blender guy not processing for a good hour that it actually exists and its there from early versions of MaxBasicaly mutter out "witchcraft"
>>108747207what kind of cope is this lol>they used linuxguy who had android mobile phone was working at disney?
>>108747239>>108750880this is actually true.only sculptmonkeys who need zbrush are allowed windows.the rest of the in-house pipeline is built around loonix.loonix perf for us simfags is better as well.
This guy has never failed meEvery time I need it to do something new I find out it already has that feature
>>108747168>>108747239The absolute state of /g/
>>108750903And the name of that big studio whos pipeline is build around loonix is?
>>108746826i also love zbrush 2022.7
>>108751893basically all the large vfx houses, m8ilm, dneg... the list could go onthis isn't some loonix da best shit - most people run windows at home, but the studios run on linux
>>108752122Artists, riggers and composers in ilm do not loonix buddy
>>108750880I know you're trolling, but for any anon out of the loop. There's the VFX Reference Platform standard that's worked on, and developed by a bunch of studios and the Linux Foundation. They rely mostly on RHEL equivalent software I think. That's the reason DaVinci Resolve supports RHEL and Rocky Linux specifically.
Software so good, that I've relied on for so many years, that I paid for it once I earned my first paychecks. With another update being almost released as stable.
>>108746826Shotcut - People often say it's meme it doesn't have as much functionality as the others video editors... it simply doesn't matter. It's small program easy to download and easy to edit in. It saved my ass gazzilion time and it works on both Windows and Linux.
>>108752359Just embarrassing yourself now
>>108747290I refuse to use that because of the name alone, I'm sticking with qBittorrent.
>>108753251Very impractical and arbitrary imo.qB is on my low tier because the utilization/performance is so bad, feature set / protocol extensions are few, and a litany of other problems.I'm genuinely surprised so many people use it, but I guess there aren't many options for some systems. It's at least not deluge.
>>108752122>basically all the large vfx houses, m8ilm, dneg... the list could go oni can claim that they use Windows in same way you claim they use troonixand because i know the scope of rabid lunacy in troonix users, i can also guess that "what you akshually meant" was they have a server somewhere in basement that work on unix and shares textures between windows workstations and give you right to claim>basically all the large vfx houses, m8ilm, dneg... the list could go on
>>108752972> There's the VFX Reference Platform standard that's worked on,in same breath as >industry is using troonixyou are trolling here
>>108753108nobody is using linux in VFX, AT ALLwhat is going on in this gaslight thread
>>108752972I don’t know anything about the subject you guys are arguing about, but is this perhaps because the software can also be used in a ‘render farm setting’? From experience in other areas, linux is often supported where it will be used primarily for servers, even if there is incidental GUI support. The usual pattern is to support enterprise platforms because of the long support period. So perhaps the artits are working on Windows / Mac, and then running jobs on these linux machines.
>>108753741Yeah man, that's why companies continue to make Linux builds for Maya, Houdini, nuke, fusion, mari, substance... Tens of millions in salaries every year for making software that no one uses
>>108746832I've been running 2024 on Cachy for 3 months through vanilla wine with no tweaks with zero problems. I'd say it can run fine.Yes i know that 2025 is completely fucked there but i didnt see any major difference between the two on windows so whatever.

Blender.
>>108755477The Virgin Cola of 3D software.
