The complete opposite of what they want you to believe about programming is true. A growing percentage of developers (as well as hobbyists and enthusiasts) have gone all-in on rotting away their brains to dust. There has literally been no better time to learn coding in history. If you hold onto your skills/start learning to code manually as an absolute beginner, you will become part of an extremely privileged minority in the future.
AI bros and their loyal minions very obviously see intellectually independent people who don't use AI and have skills of their own that haven't been liquidated as first-rate threats, so they are doing everything in their conceivable power to either put them down or assimilate them into the cattle pen. Yet it will not happen no matter how desperate they get.

As someone who vibecode i totally agree with you especially with critical systems where reliability have to be 100%.There's no way we're going to use AI for trains/flights/spaceships/boats/missiles/drones etc etcSo yeah the need of good programmers will still be needed , the problem comes with the transmission of knowledge but at this point i feel like we'll have to reinvent wheels when the world just fall down.
