Look, I know this might seem like a strange question, but let me explain: when I saw older computers running, they seemed to struggle with even the most basic tasks—you’d type or click something, and it would take up to three seconds for the action to happen. In my mind, I always had the impression that the computer was “thinking” (calculating). Nowadays, with everything running smoothly, that perception has disappeared. It now seems like nothing inside the computer is real—it’s just following some kind of script. For example, I like to use it in grayscale and without any animations. I’m not sure if I’ve managed to explain exactly what I mean. Anyway, take care!

If it's a laptop, go into power management and put the maximum cpu speed to 10%. I often limit it to like 75% here to save battery and you can really feel the difference.
More generally, you can underclock your cpu.

You could use stress test software and set it to however slow you want your computer to be.

Swap out the SSD for a a HDD, your computer will be doing a lot of “thinking”.

Also install Gentoo, and always have a compile job running.
